Lord Davos Tarly had both of his hands folded on Heartsbane's hilt, resting his weight on it as he reviewed his assembled troops. 1,000 light cavalrymen, armed with both blades and sharp eyes, and prepared to lay they lives on the line to defend their hometown. There loyalty ran deep enough that they were willing to offer their skills for only a small sum. In addition to the scouts, 600 heavy infantry, 600 archers, and 200 of the Reach's finest knights stood ready to act on the reports of the Scouts.
Lord Tarly adressed the scouts, "Remember, any sign of the brigands is to be reported. Under no circumstances are you to engage the enemy in combat on your own initiative. Simply find where the bastards hide, and allow the rest of the troops to arrive, then I will happily let you participate in the battle."
The saddle horses that the young men were mounted on pranced and chomped at their bits, just as eager to be off as their riders. Janos quickly broke the troops into four groups.
250 would stay on the Eastern borders of Horn Hill,
250 would ride north for Ashford
Another 250 would be charged with both Starpike and Yelshire provinces, though one of the two could eventually be ceded to Lord Fossoway's men.
The remaining scouts stayed at Horn Hill awaiting a raven from Nightsong.
Lord Davos watched his men ride off until they disappeared among the trees.
May the Seven watch over you all
He then turned back to the keep. He had ravens to send.
OOC: All of the Reach Lords could use this thread to track the movement of their scout forces for this particular task
