    Default Faction Destroyed... again!

    Hi I am having a problem as England. I conquer the Scots by turn 15 and regardless if I destroy William Wallace, I'm forever spammed the "Scottish King is DEAD!!!" twice every turn and "Scotland is destroyed". I don't care about the messages.

    The problem is they ally themselves to France before I destroy them, and I am no longer able to make an alliance with France for the rest of the game. I need that alliance for the way I want to play (I'll destroy them around turn 180).

    How do I fix this? No sub-mods, clean install of medieval 2 and kingdoms for Steam. I've reinstalled Steam, Medieval 2, Kingdoms, SS 6.3, and SS 6.4 three times each. I have windows 7 but I've turned off UAC, also I've allowed full permission to my Steam folders and documents. Ran the installations as Admin.

    The problem seems to be that Scotland is still present as a faction after being destroyed. They don't show up in the diplomacy scroll, they are dead in the comparison charts, they are present as France' ally... Help pls I love this mod and I've spent hours on this.

    Forgot to mention; I've replayed the start of the campaign about 6 times and tried about every scenario in my method of destroying Scotland. Killing the king last, first. Killing William first, last, not at all (destroyed Scotland in one turn). I'm tired of the nonsense, there is definitely a typo or error somewhere in the mod.

    Its an amazing mod, please help me fix this so I can appreciate the great amount of work that went in it.

    One more thing. I'm running SS 6.4 with the Savage Script and Permanent towers. I installed 6.3 with Savage and towers.
    I tried on one reinstall 6.3 with Savage, then 6.4 with Savage and Towers but same problem.

    Okay so I replayed and stopped any Scottish diplomats from forming an alliance. Then destroyed them at turn 15.
    Turn 42 just came up and within the last 3 turn, two Scottish merchants and a priest all 20 yo; spawned outside Edinburg at 62,247... They are marked at war with me.

    Can someone at least direct me to the documents which may posses this problem? I'm not new to modding, can probably figure out the problem, but I'm not a pro haha

    The agent spawning is a feature of SS, normally the AI is not intelligent enough to build enough agents...I dont think this is the core of your problem, it's just consequence of the general "faction ist destroyed"-problem. I have a limited knowledge of moding, but i would try to delete the "William Wallace Uprising" event from the campaign script.

    The campaign_script.txt is located in in M2TW/mods/SS6.3/mods/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign

    Now search for the entry " ;============== William Wallace Uprising ================ "

    Delete everything from this point to ;============== golden horde emergent ================ "


    just to be sure delete the map.rwm located in M2TW/mods/SS6.3/mods/data/world/maps/base ( dont worry it will self regenerate, if you start a new campaign)

    Now start a new campaign(the changes will only work with a new campaign), notice it will take some time to start an regenerate the map.rwm for the new campaign and the M2TW will look like it has frozen(the time is based on your core~specs in general, but not more as a few minutes at all)

    Now there will be no more Wallace emerging at all, maybe just a event with no real emerging at all.

    I dont warrant for failures or a broken campaign/SS...Also notice this isn't a elegant methode to solve your problem, but i might work. You can backup the campaing_script.txt and copy and paste it back , if it didnt helped at all.

    Hmm - thanks for pointing this out.

    the campaign script should really check to see if Scotland still exists before spawning agents and William Wallace.

    I'm working on a revised campaign script - I think I've found what the problem is with the Teutonic Order CTD.
    Hopefully i can sort out the spawning problem too.

    Still WiP - but currently priests and merchants and extra navies won't spawn unless a faction has more then 1 settlement.

    Whatever I do though it will need a complete new start to the campaign as the campaign script is locked into the campaign when you start it.
    Changes made subsequently won't take effect without a new campaign.
