No, the most representative language of Kingdom of Navarre is bask. In fact, the last Queen of Navarre (north navarre, south had been conquered by spanish monarchy in 1512) Joana III. Albret (1528-1572) supported the translation of the bible to bask language, which was still the most spoken language in Navarre kingdom althoug the official language was the latin. So, the capital would be named Pompaelo in latin in official documents and Iruńea by bask peope. Despite that, all other places (cities, towns, valleys...) would have bask names (today, a lot of places have still bask names althoug people who lives there doesn't speak bask).

If you want to use the most durable banners, the best banner for Aragon Kingdom is the one whit yellow and red stripes, which has been used since the XII century and it is still used by all the autonomous communities of spain which were part of the kingdom). It has also been used as Kiingdom of Aragon banner in the Stainless Steel mod.

I am pretty sure Ansark didn't want to offend anyone with that 'video'. I have to congrat you guys for the investigation you have been making about the Navarrese territories, which has not usually appeared in the medieval games. That being said, I think some people (natives, mostly) may be enthusiasted on helping you documenting and finding facts about the era, including myself.

    Keep up the good work!

are there some pictures of the units from this faction?

Yes, there will be some, but the unit roster and models are not fully in-game yet. We are working on it. Due to the new development schedule an early alpha with an almost complete Aragón e Navarr will be playable sooner than anticipated, but there are several things to do until that version.

A LOT of crap is produced in the game industry. Making a complex supermod is a testament to everything that's good about games! Hopefully in the future all games are made with love and care

Galician is a Latin language, not a Celtic one, and it is mutually intelligeable with Portuguese. It is for this reason that there is debate amongst linguists as to whether or not Galician and Portuguese should be considered as seperate languages or dialects / branches of the same one. The same goes for Valencian and Catalan (as well as the dialects of the Balaeric Islands), although these two are even more similar and are (fairly unanimously amongst linguists) considered part of the same language, Catalan. Hope that's useful
I'd like to point out that I am neither Galician, Portuguese, Catalan, Valencian or Spanish, but I study European linguistics and languages and have read quite a lot of stuff on these subjects, and have friends from a lot of different regions of Spain, including Valencia.
PS : I do not at all intend to inflame any ethnic / nationalist tensions, just trying to clarify some stuff

Thanks for that post, Basil 11. There is actually a big controversy when talking about languages in the iberian peninsula. Often, linguistic matters are mixed with political ideologies, which ends on discussions with no possible mutual agreement. I don't know how the DotS team is going to handle this concept, but in my personal opinion languages such as galician and portuguese, and catalan and valencian should stay in the same linguistical or cultural package, respectively.

As to this affirmation, despite not being an expert on the Iberian history, I think there wasn't any type of national or identity differences between those locations, so I don't see the necessity of spliting this cultures or languages based on the modern political situation.

Again, as Basil said, I do not pretend offending anyone's identity or ideologies with these lines.

Why are you claiming this nonsense without at least some form of argumentation? In any case, it is an unfounded statement and a form of off-topic posting, so consider this a warning.

With the great disappointment that is Rome II to so many of us here at TWC, this mod will certainly become so popular as to hopefully, in some small way, reward all of your hard effort with voluminous praise and thanks from your so many fans! Praise and Thanks!

I always knew you guys wouldn't stop. I've been around since c. 2008, patiently waiting. I was very inspired by Europa Barbarorum for Rome and always considered DotS to be the EB for M2TW in terms of making the best out of the engine. As a historian, I'm amazed by the team's dedication to detail and correctness, and by its expertise on everything it covers. You should be able to use this mod as your habilitation work.
