Default Historical Battle - Battle of Alesia - Legendary

Hi guys, I've done this battle now, and made a guide on it here:

It seems you as Caesar face about 5 waves of Gauls that amount to 10,000 troops. You're army has 2200 Troops, the task just seems impossible as waves come at the same time sometimes from multiple directions and you have to hold at least 2 capture points at all times. The closest I've gotten is killing 7800 of the enemy but losing because I didn't hold the points.

Would love to see a video guide or battle replay to see what I can do to improve.

I had a very tough time with this battle as well initially. I was convinced that my strategy of plugging the holes and using cavalry to charge from behind (Do this once all enemy troops in the area are trying to squeeze into your fortifications .. only the slingers are in the open and are scattered by a single charge) was good enough but i just could not keep enough troops alive to withstand the final assault. In most of my attempts i found some units had lost 80 % of their numbers within a few moments while i had been managing other areas of battle. I thought it was because of the sheer number of enemy troops they were holding the line against. However, i discovered that if you place the troops too close to the walls they will get crushed once the wall is brought down by the enemy (it falls inwards and ontop of your troops). Keep your troops a bit farther from the walls and also use the ballistas manually .. they too cause massive friendly casualties.

Yeah I tried the same initially too, cavalry charges from the outside didn't seem to work for me as casualties at the walls were still too high.

I eventually did this battle, and made a video about how to do it. I've updated the original post for people to take a look and figure it out.
