Indeed.
And it was the perfect fix once AI became incapable of fighting, when I killed all his infantry or burnt down his rams and towers, and of course destroyed the siege engines. So instead of becoming braindead, sitting idly on the land without doing anything, and in turn making the battle unending and breaking the game completely, it safely retreated back with what was left of the army, ending the battle and creating a draw or accepting defeat depending on situation.
