    Default seige AI still horribly broken when will all of these issues be fixed CA???? Now updated with patch 9

    just did a siege battle and can honestly say I cant tell a difference between patch 1 and patch 8.1 and I believe siege battles have gotten even worse since launch:

    good god all in one battle. What the hell did 8.1 fix exactly? I've been told its leaps and bounds better by more than a few fellow forumites but my last hour was wasted in this idiocy. Thank god i played with no time limit otherwise I would have lost due to this stupidity

    Guys they ain't fixing this stuff, it's obvious. 8.1 patches in and they can't fix basic core fundamentals of siege AI, it's RIP. I just did a custom ( as offense) battle at Carthage and my Greek allies Ship went floating around on land, their siege ram got stuck on a house, some Greek units that landed via ship stood there and did not participate in the battle, the big siege ram with the giant tree on it never moved in the battle (for the AI or my allies in all siege tests), the AI got stuck at the gate after the other ram had destroyed it, The AI infantry refused to reinforce its ranged units on the walls making battle tactics non existent, and the bulk of the defenders stood around whilst getting destroyed by my ranged units once I took the walls.

    This is Beta crap right here, pathetic. But CA sure got their Caeser in Gaul BS out even though the game mechanics totally fail.

    Agreed its staggering they released CiG when the siege ai is still so broken. The ai is still passive. The bands playing while the Titanic sinks.

    Beside siege fail once more this bloobing - it is like Im watching some riot not a battle. Where is discipline, order? This must be engine problem I can't see how to fix it. They didn't fix this in 8 patches probably they won't in any other future patches. Its time to invest a money in a new engine...

    Yep, it is like watching ants swarm together, the collision detection is non existent. They can't fix that until they make a new engine.

    CA is well aware of the problems. Since they got back from their holidays it looks like they are now concentrating on the BAI issues.

    If you look at the : Single Player Battle Issues forum, you'll see a lot of new [In Progress] ; [In Process B] and [Open] tags.
    Which shows CA are now looking at those issues.

    They have been aware that the siege AI has been botched and untested since release, much like many things, I will believe it when I see it.

    The seiges work fine in my game with latest patch when someone tells me how to make the words bigger in my videos I will put the video on YouTube

    is this you in the video? anyway just like in the video the "civilized" walls are scalable by ladders as I did it at carthage in campaign but the barbarian cities are broken at every level. Do the barbarian walls get taller wen they grow? because it seems the problem with the ladders is thier about twelve feet above the wall when they climb up it.

    considering the barbarian lvl-1 to 3 walls are completely broken thankfully I didnt waste my money on CIG where they would all be that way.

    Edit: seems attacking AI is just is broken in seigeing you in a civilized cities smfh

    Likely most if not all staff that could work on TWR2 siege AI have long since been redeployed to work on the expansion or next game. Please boycott.

    just had a battle against the lusitani at the same location. This time they were seiging me. They bugged out on the walls again and resorted to burning the gate. This time too the gate was destroyed but they only entered one unit at a time and were killed, after three tries they just stood outside and took casulties from y javelins. ing broken.

    I agree with you guys.The brutal honest truth is that battles (including sieges of course) are still broken.Truth might be unpleasant,but the facts don't change whether we like them or not.

    The link in post 11 is a great example of how broken this engine is for pre-gunpowder warfare.It just doesn't work.

    I think it's time for CA to move on to the next engine for the expansion of TWR2.Logic says CA is not gonna do this even if the world turns upside down,but that's my opinion and I stand by it.

    I also agree with Huberto that boycott is the right reaction of the true TW fans.

    I've had problems with my own guys climbing up ladders. They sometimes get stuck. And then I have to constantly click where I want them go until they're there, or dead from taking forever.
