Default What to do with Harad.

I'm playing Mordor and I am far enough into Gondor to have Harad completely cut off. I assume this happens in most Mordor campaigns. What usually happens? Do they stay down there and do nothing or do I constantly have Harad stacks coming up through and messing up my expansion plans.

I was thinking I would just revoke their Military Access?

    Thanks for any help.

Usually the AI only invades enemy settlements adjacent to their own, but I would revoke it just in case. They won't attack you on their own. If they share a border with Rhun you can expect a war between them meaning you'll have to choose to stay allies with. I would recommend staying allies with Rhun and take advantage of the now broken alliance with Harad to invade them.

Of course, if Rhun and Harad don't share a border, Harad will do nothing until an invasion is called

I believe if there is a sea trade route between two settlements then the AI considers them connected and may attack by sea.

Attacking other evil factions can be fun because their settlements have your same culture and therefore can produce units immediately after conquered, but in my opinion Mordor has a long enough campaign (conquer the whole world!) without smashing the other baddies. Expanding to the West will gain you some rich settlements in Rohan and Gondor and you need to start increasing your culture there to prepare to attack the High Elves and Eriador. Plus, this will position your Nazgul closer to the center of the map in case the One Ring is located and you want to wake up the boss.

I've never seen a sea invasion that wasn't scripted happen in TATW. At most the AI blockades a port

I'll let them go for now and see what happens. Hopefully they invade Rhun and I'll take advantage.

If you play as Gondor and capture either of the 2 island settlements (I forget their names, one is south of Pelargir and the other one is in the ocean west of Umbar) then Harad will attack by boat if you leave small garrisons there.

That would explain a lot. As Gondor I'm very pro-navy I blockade every Haradrim port and sink every Corsair ship I can find hahaha

Yeah, naval war is fun and I wish there were more areas for it in TATW. With most good factions I try to assist Gondor via sea invasion of Harad after my local campaign is nearing conclusion.
