Increasing resolution of DDS textures
Hey guys, I understand some people have been able to increase the resolution of some textures. I also understand that some people have apparently been able to increase the dimensions of their DDS files in order to do so (am I reading this correctly?). If so, would it be possible to increase the length of say a feather for the helmet crest. Normally the single feather dimensions are just enough for the texture itself. Would proportionally increasing the size to appear be taller be possible - say from 128 to 256, or 256 to 512 height? I say 'appear' because I understand that the rigid model will determine how it looks, however if you can subtract from an alpha channel to make the texture appear transparent, then we can give the illusion that there is more there than what there already is.
Cheers

No. The textures effectively stick onto the model, so even if you increased the dds image size it would be simply stuck onto the model. The effect would be that the texture would be squeezed to fit onto the polygon surfaces, not make the model appear larger.
