Default SS 6.4 Eary Campaign CTD, Rebel's Turn, Playing as Spain

    As the title says.

I am currently playing Spain, version 6.4 early campaign, turn 29, and I am about to start my turn right after the rebels finish theirs, when I get the CTD.

Screenshot is included in the compression, along with the save. The game log is as follows:

    22:05:01.750 [system.rpt] [always] CPU: SSE2
22:05:01.750 [system.rpt] [always] ==== system log start, build date: Feb 25 2008 version development ===
    22:05:01.753 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/data_0.pack
    22:05:01.753 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/data_1.pack
    22:05:01.754 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/data_2.pack
    22:05:01.754 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/data_3.pack
    22:05:01.754 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/data_4.pack
    22:05:01.755 [system.io] [always] mounted pack packs/localized.pack
22:07:24.527 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.

I do not believe any of the currently noted bugs and issues apply as listed in the stickied topics. I am using Windows 7 new version, and am playing a non-Steam version of Medieval 2 Kingdoms. Machine is an Intel Core i7-3770 HP desktop, 10.0 GB RAM, x64, with an AMD Radeon HD 7570.

Any help would be appreciated. I am not certain if I can contribute much to the solution, though.

I've gotten CTD's at certain turns during random factions' turns, and I found a way to solve them (at least all the ones I've had so far).

    1) open up the console (by pressing the ` key) and type in toggle_fow which should reveal the whole map
    2) then end your turn and wait for everyone to finish their turn
    3) if it worked, you can then type toggle_fow in again to make the map go back to normal

for some reason this worked for me, try it if you'd like
