    Default A few questions

Hi, first time poster here and new to total war as well. I've been having some rather odd thing happen to me during campaign and I was wondering if they were normal. First off I keep hearing voices at the end of most factions turns saying things like "waiting to spring a deadly trap", "this is the perfect place for an ambush", or "there is no honor in hiding like this". I'm not sure why this is happening and can't get it to stop. the second thing is that every faction currently viewable on the map is constantly sending there armies out of there cites and then back in again on the same turn. It's not a big deal, just kind of annoying to have to spend an extra minute watching them run around for no reason.
any help in these matters would be appreciated.

The vocies are the sounds made by your armies when hiding in forest etc. Litellary ambushing enemy Depending on faction, chivalry etc. the sound changes.

When starting a campaign, uncheck "watch enemy movements", should help

Alternatively, if you still want to see the movements but want them to move faster than a stroll, hit SPACEBAR - it speeds up movements of agents and armies. It'll affect movement at all times, not just the turns of other factions, so you may want to hit SPACEBAR again to turn it off. And remember BACKSPACE will stop your unit's movements on the campaign map too - so you can avoid getting caught in another army's Zone Of Control, for example, when you hadnt seen that army before telling yours to move.

Yes these are the dialogues you hear when your army is set near a sparse forest and it kneels down and gets in ambush mode. So when an enemy army passes through that region it will be automatically ambushed by your army set in ambush mode.

thanks for the responses guys, they were most helpful.
I do, however, have one other question. do your relations with the papal states directly effect your favor with the pope or are they just like any other faction?

Yup, in addition, promotions for cardinals bump the relations higher.
