    Great feedback. I wonder if it would be posible to simply drastically reduce the occurrence of all the "matched combat animations" without removing them completely. That way we can retain all animations, but the more extreme animations are a suitably rare occurrence.

    The OP was right about CloseCombat, it has great spacing and movement speed settings. That being said, I prefer everything else in the DEI battle design, the longevity, the kill rates, the overall unit balance. The ideal fix would be a combination of CC's spacing/movement speeds and the rest of the DEI-battle ensemble.
