    Default comp under $600

Hey guys, i have a homework assignment to build a comp in under $600. Who better to ask then my fellow TWC cmmunity. The rules are simple:
-build the best comp possible in under $600, cannot go over at all not even by $1
-taxes, shipping, or any other extra costs are NOT counted
-any online website is allowed long as the comp runs
-the comp must be centered around the Intel D915GEV motherboard
-it must have a mobo, cpu and fan and heatsink, power supply, hd, keyboard, ram, case, vid card, cd-rw, and a mouse
-does not include software or a monitor
Thanks guys hope you guys can help, ill post my findings tomorrow when i get back from school. -Leon

What kind of an assigment is this ..... I find building the fastest computer (with no price limit) would be more challenging.

I suggest you go to www.pricewatch.com and find the cheapest components and throw something together. It should take about 20 minutes or less... also Walmart sells PCs for like..500 bucks. check them out and write down the inner components.

Well what im trying to really do is break the record which was $599.95 cents. So if someone actually builds something closer to $600 it would be really cool. As for this its for my comp class. A+ certification class. -Leon

I bought a computer out of the box for less than 600 I think. It was an e-machine...
