    Default Modding Dismounted Black Numenorean Voices?

    Hello,

    I've presently resumed a Mordor campaign I had started a few months back for MOS 1.60. One thing that has consistently distracted me is how the Dismounted Black Numenoreans do not use the Black Numenorean voices of the Nazgul cavalry bodyguards, but seem instead to have no voice beyond a generic Middle Eastern "Heavy Infantry!" exclamation. Have there been any modifications that have tweaked their voices to match their mounted counterparts, or is there any relatively straightforward way to do so?

    I changed the Harad/Rhun units spawned by Mordor's Call to that of their respective factions by playing around with adding Accents to the units export_descr_unit but in my inexperience with modding I can't think of an easy way to associate the Dismounted Black Numenoreans with the Black Numenorean voices (this would of course only be for personal use).

    the problem is the engine doesn't assign voices unit by unit but rather class + culture

    (for example, NE heavy infantry, Mesoamerican Missile Infantry.. etc)

    so mordor is middle east and dismounted black numenoreans are heavy infatry, so the engine assigns them middle eastern heavy infantry sound/sfx, so they'll also share that voice with all ME Heavy Infantry...

    it's an engine limitation that works on vanilla but not on very specific mods with lots of distinctive units :/

    If that's the case, then how can corsairs/corsair archers have different voicesets from Southron Warband/Archers or trolls have their unique troll grunting despite being categorized as heavy infantry like Uruks?

    when you click on them or the sounds they make in battle?

    because those are different

    unit Snow Trolls
    event
    folder data/sounds/Voice/Human/Localized/Battle_Map
    4a_Orc_Troll1.wav
    4a_Orc_Troll2.wav
    end
    but i guarantee you the sounds in battle are the same depending on faction -> culture -> unit class

    You can give the dismounted BNs the same selected voices (what they say when selected on the battle map) fairly easy (though it's yet quite a few steps), and same applies for the other units.
    I presume all needed is to give the Dismounted_Numenorians the same .wav-entries in export_descr_sounds_units_voice.txt as Black_Numenorians have already (or perhaps as Mounted_Nazgul have, you can experiment)
