"debugging" a busted campaign save
I have a very much late-game campaign that has gone bad: there is a repeating crash every time I end the turn (specifically when Arachosia's AI turn begins).
I have posted in the "bug reports" thread, but I wanted to ask separately if anyone knows how to find out what exactly is causing the crash in order to possibly fix it with EditSF or something.

I added an mdmp file to the dropbox folder in addition to the .save: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sglhqydv6...Y9og6gY4V/rome

I'm not sure where to see the turn # but it's Summer of 222 BC.
Maybe it's a null reference in one of their high-end units or buildings.

Mkay I guess my campaign is a lost cause. Serious bummer.
Anyway the dropbox link has the mdump and a save in case someone on the DeI team wants to track down the bug.

Re: "debugging" a busted campaign save
I am experiencing the exact same problems in my rome playthrough always in the year 254 bc, once when calculating the turn for armenia and after a rollback when it was sparta's turn. Maybe it is worth investigating, but if I remember correctly this happened in the launch beta alot. Even now I can find recent topics discussing this issue, so it could be a vanilla bug and not mod related...
anyways, if you devs are interested I can too provide a savegame for you to investigate

Re: "debugging" a busted campaign save
hi guys,
Same here. Playing as Rome. Turn 141. AI turn hangs with macedon or bithynia. I play with these mods Radious Total War, Divide et Impera, NO Agents, Dresdens Sack and Liberate options, and some skin mods. Rollback savegame is a loss of 4 hours precious gaming time
Will the problem re-occur or is this some random thing?

Re: "debugging" a busted campaign save
just wanted to say that i fixed my CTD on ai turn by opting out of beta patch, letting turn go through, then i went back in and opted back into the beta.
seems like this is some kind of bug with the beta patch so try what i did and see if that fixes it.

Re: "debugging" a busted campaign save
Actually I also noticed that switching back and forth between beta and non-beta helped... but then the problem reappeared five turns later. This time with a different faction (the white elephants).
There is one thing in common between the two occurrences: the last army of Seclucia is about to be wiped out, and it's been wandering around a few provinces. When the first crash happened it was in that faction's territory, and now it's in the white elephant's territory. I suspect that the bug has to do with the AI faction attacking that army. But it could also be a coincidence.

The beta trick didn't work this time around.

Re: "debugging" a busted campaign save
Well I got it going again by going back to an earlier save, but now it keeps happening with all sorts of different factions at different times. I'm giving up on this campaign and will start again fresh. Hope you all have better luck.

I'm trying an extended campaign in vanilla (shudder) to see if it might be DEI related.

I'm having this same issue during Arachosia's turn... ruined a very long campaign.
