Default Protests against Chevron in Romania

This wasn't in the mainstream media. What could be the reason?

    Because Romania's not that interesting?

What mainstream media wasn't your broken video in? Was it not in the national Romanian media? Was it not in the international media? Give us something to talk about when you say it's not in the media please.

Well, it could pollute water supplies depending on where they are. Especially since if we(and by we I mean our major companies) aren't the most careful about our fracking, what makes you think Romania will bother letting them pretend to be careful.

Another significant factor could that a large part of Romania is within a notable Earthquake zone. The video in the OP isn't working though!!
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Seismic hazard for Romania from the Global Seismic Hazard Assessment Program (GSHAP) in terms of peak ground acceleration with a 10% chance of being exceeded (or a 90% chance of not being exceeded) within the next 50 years

Yea, Gromovnik still hasn't explained which news agencies have covered it and if and why this is even worth national or international coverage anyway. This is just Romania turning down a business deal. Big whup.

They were only doing exploratory work... I dunno maybe good regulation. I mean the fact is a lot of things could pollute water supplies agriculture and industry living and using the toilet etc. I have no ideal how well Romania and the EU would regulate fracking, but what I do know is the anti fracking crowd seems to play up the worst case isolated bad examples, ignores advances that use little or no water and simply seem happy to say no to everything with fear. You know maybe Romaina can just subsidize solar - but than somebody has to pay the tax and somebody (in China) as to live next to the disastrous evaluational catastrophe the is rare earth mining in China. Not in my back yard is great and all if it keeps your back yard nice but its not really moral.

Actually the most funny thing I have seen related to this is this:

Yep wonderful a bunch of pompous geeks whose very eclat and fun depends entirely on cheep energy and cheap plastics and cheap rare earths are upset that maybe a company might want to produce more of them - ass hats

You're sort of missing the point. Even with good regulation, our companies don't have a good record being able to follow that regulation just from records of fracking in America. Give me a good reason why Romania should trust Chevron.

Since the OP offers insufficient basis for a discussion, I'm closing the thread.
