Is it possible to recruit any unit through type 4 government?

I have been playing this mod for years, on and off, but have somehow never thought of this until now:

Is it possible to recruit any unit within an AOR using a type 4 government. So if I was playing as Romani and set up a type 4 government would I be able to recruit pezhetairoi if my MIC was up to the correct level?

No, sadly not. the type 4 does give a wide variety of recruitable troops, but that is also partially dependent on what faction builds the type 4. SO the Romans would get some local troops, but Pezzies are closer to core factional troops for the Diodachi factions.

Actually you would. You would get mitsophoroi Phalangitai, which are just Pezhetairoi with different names. But you won't be able to get companions or Thessalian cavalry or Spartan hoplites.

Mistophoroi Phalangitai actually have lower Morale than Pezhetairoi ... and Rome can't recruit them anyway. It still needs to look for Merc units. (Going off of heimstatt - my desktop is AFK right now, and Rome's not on my laptop.)

You're right. Sorry, I was going off the Romani Unit guide in one of the forums. It says you can recruit them. Must be some sort of mistake.

Thank you for the replies. It's interesting that I didn't think of this even after years of playing. It just goes to show you the scope and complexity of the game.
