Yep, totally agree. There is a lot of modern and historical evidence strongly suggesting that Homosexuality is entirely something one chooses and that the threat of imprisonment or worse works really well in stopping people choosing to be gay.

All I would say to India is that one day, not too far from now, your children and grandchildren will look back with shame and a sense of incredulity at the passing of laws like this at a time when many countries are well into the process of removing these sorts of antiquated, old fashioned laws.

Seriously, though. If it wasn't natural, then why would anyone choose to be gay if given the choice? Think about it.

Hmm. On the one hand, if you choose to be straight, you will be readily accepted by society and your parents. On the other hand, if you choose to be gay, you risk being harassed, shunned, ostracized, beaten, killed, imprisoned, executed, etc. Gee, I wonder which one you'll choose!

it's more than likely going to be used to get rid of inconvenient people and selectively enforced. India might be a democracy, but it is horrendously corrupt. Politicians can make people 'disappear' by trumping up charges, and the Indian justice system can take 20 years to hear a case.
