That's the thing that bothered me the most. The game was too easy to play. I did hit a rough patch at the beginning of my first campaign because I underestimated how useful missile units were in R2. After that I steamrolled pretty much everything as Macedon.

Are you able to edit the campaign map? Like add new factions and regions?

No one is capable of doing that until CA releases the raw campaign files in their assembly kit (the model that we can import into 3dsMax, and the DB files to compile the esf)... seems as the assembly kit is still in beta (has it been 6 months now?) there's still hope for this to be included like they did for Shogun 2.

Would be awesome. Imagine Greece in all of its glory.

Yeah I know, I'm keen for when this is going to be possible. I've been thinking that Greece would be really cramped though, cities only just next to each other (especially when the cities start getting larger, they'll almost merge!), so the entire map night need to be up-sized, and depending on if the model retains its quality or not, maybe even entirety redesigned :O

Perhaps it might be possible to shrink the city models so when they do get bigger they still aren't too big.

Yeah well I think that's necessary anyway, because when a city is at its biggest, IT'S GIANT! Like Athens takes up all of Attica when it is at its largest... that's crazy.

I was wondering if would be possible in the future, when the assembly kit is finished, to shrink the city icon on the campaign map or replace it altogether. That way when you add more factions to Greece it wouldn't look so crowded.

I know that there's some info in the esf that defines exactly where the city expands when it's upgraded, so if that'll be easy to edit once we get the assembly kit finished (because it's impossible without it) then hopefully.

So far campaign map editing as of now are restricted to changing faction ownership. Adding new faction is technically possible but I'm not sure if anyone has successfully done that already since it's much easier to rename unused faction (you can change culture or even create your own unique culture) so technically it's like creating new faction.

I don't think it is possible, at least, not in Shogun 2 until they released the Assembly Kit with the campaign map model (given that they're on similar engine, I'd guess it's the same). The reason is faction diplomacy (the ai won't know the new faction exists, and the game crashes) and pathfinding (the most impossible thing to edit without the right tools/necessary files). It's fairly easy to create a new faction for custom battle use only, but we need the right files to incorporate it into the campaign.

We have removed the city icons all together, looks much better now.

Why not just post it publicly in the AAW forums, so the world can see it ?
