Default The Starry Sept, Oldtown - Seat of the High Septon

The Starry Sept of Oldtown is one of the greatest septs in Westeros. It served as the seat of the High Septon and the Most Devout for a thousand years before Aegon the Conqueror came with his dragons. After two-hundred years, it is once again the bastion of the Faith. Its walls are of black marble with arched windows.

Default Re: The Starry Sept, Oldtown - Seat of the High Septon

Septon Anders stands before the statue of the Father within the Starry Sept. The face was as stern as the marble it was made of, adding to the humbleness the septon felt before the gods. He had served the High Septon as the Grand Son of the 44 Sons for about five years after the order was exterminated and restored. It had been quiet and calm years, doing the work of normal septons; sermonizing, absolving sins, visiting the poor and sick and managing the sept. There had also been some... nightly visits to the red temple in Oldtown. Such an offense to the gods, he thought while moving to the other statues and praying at each one.

The High Septon soon arrived and Setpon Anders knelt. He had no idea why he had been called so urgently, but it had to be important.

    "Your holiness."

"Anders, no need for formalities today. We have important work to do. Many things need to be prepared." The High Septon smiled and held forward his ring which Anders kissed and then rose.

"Prepare? What is it that needs to be prepared?" Another grand sermon outside the sept? Usually nothing major that he needed to be involved in, the High Septon had the Most Devout for planning such events.

"Why, we are leaving, my good Anders! The gods are moving back to King's Landing." The septon was shocked.

"King's Landing? But your holiness, you moved to Oldtown to get away from the influence of the Iron Throne. Now we're going back, what purpose does that serve?"

"The gods' purpose. I have realized that although I am relatively safe here in Oldtown, my influence has diminished considerably. The king is in King's Landing, the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Shouldn't the avatar of the gods be with him so that he knows what path to take? Besides, Baelor is no longer king, his heathen laws no more. I have heard that Daemon is a more sensible king, much more respectful of the line between the faith and the realm. He'll need the gods' consent for his coronation." He turned and walked towards his chambers, smiling back at Septon Anders.

"Make ready the sons for our departure immediately. I'm going to pay a visit to our dear lord Hightower and thank him for his hospitality." Anders bowed without a word. When the High Septon was gone, he left the Starry Sept to meet with his brothers.
