Replaceing an Imperial Palace: Possible?

I just took Alexandira in Eygpt in vanilla RTW, and I found that they'd already built a Pharaoh's palace.
I wanna replace that with a Roman (Julii) Imperial Palace. Is there any known way to do this? What do I have to do, raze the town and start over from scratch?

no! let the egyptians capture it again then they take it back but be sure to bring along some onagers to **** the hell out of that palace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not possible to destroy the imperial palace and replace it with your own culture's palace. I know this would eliminate the culture penalties for having a huge egyptian city, but it can't be done.
