Yes, I did. I had an fine Roman empire (whole Italy, parts of Greece, Carthago and a bit of Africa, Gaul and Spain), (and lots of money) when suddenly my whole computer messed up.
To help us out, some technician erased the whole drive so I lost it.
Now I always have a back-up in case I lose it again.
Hope this will not happpen again.

I forgot to save my selucid campaign and accidenlty overwrote it with a Roman one. Luckily, I was too far in the selucid but I don't want to fight those battles again

I usually just name my savegames with the first letter of the faction plus a number, and I try to keep at least two backup saves around for any given campaign.

OTOH, I've been modding so much lately that I haven't really played. Eh, what're you gonna do? (Stop modding? Nah.)

Yea, thats why it was so idiotic for me to do that.

The name of the save game I overwrote was "romans1"!
