Default I can't seem to run hyrule total war... at all.

I installed it properly and tried using the launcherapp but it crashes as soon as I open it. So I used a mod-launcher which opens to the loading screen... and then crashes to the desktop.

It's better if you always open the mod using the AUI.bat.
Did you tried to reinstall the mod? The vanilla game is working fine?

reinstalled it twice. AUI just opens the launcher (which won't list it)

    Are you using Steam?

Eldren: yes, and it has been properly installed to the proper directory (not dragged there)

Put this in the Launch Settings in Steam @mods\hyrule\Configuration.cfg

Don't use a launcher, just start the game like normal after putting that in. That's what works for me.

finally got it to work using the mod-launcher. Did that on the steam launch setting, still not able to run it via the kingdoms launcher.

Apologies for bumping this thread, but I have a similar issue. I have the retail edition of MTW2, and I can play other mods successfully, but no matter what Hyrule always crashes five seconds into the first loading screen of the game. I've tried running it using the AUI.bat, then through the Execution.bat, but always the same result.

I am going to try uninstall all the installer parts and then reinstall them again. But other than that I have no idea how to fix this.

Try adding it to the launcher.

Okay. I tried that and it has shown up in the launcher. But it still crashes :/

Try doing it the Steam way. Rename the hyrule folder "americas" and then click on americas in the launcher. That's what fixed it for me.

That's... bizarre. Probably an installation issue. How exactly are you launching the game?

tried both default launcher and mod launcher. The only trace of HTW is a custom battle map which is Hyrule Field.

Hey is there anyone I can contact to actually make this mod run? I really like the concept, but like many others on this thread I have found it impossible to start. Can I please help out, before I give up on this mod.

Hay here is the directions on how to instal "Hyrule Total War" and other things that may help you.

    1) First off. You need "Medieval 2 Total War" and "Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms" installed before you can install "Hyrule Total War".

    2)
    Installation:
    - Simply run the installer. The default directory might not match yours though, so be sure to install the game in a mod folder if it's not.
    - If you are using the Steam version of Medieval 2: Kingdoms, be sure to download this or the mod will not start up properly:

    1) Have your tried different Links for the down load?
    2) Ask a friend to give you a hand with it. (Some times a second set of eyes really do help, especially if you missed some thing.)
    3) Try getting it working on a different PC. (Some times but not often, it's the PC's fault.)
    4) Down Load HTW at a PC with better Internet Connection. Then transfer it with a flash drive or other devise to the PC you want to install it on.
(Because Bad or slow connection can cause Bugs to appear.)
    5) Don't interrupted the down load. (This will obviously cause issues)
    6) If you use Medieval 2 total war on steam. Don't forget to use the "KingdomsLauncherApp". It's found on the Total war forms.
    7) Install HTW in the order of there install number, not their file name. For example the new HTW game come with 2 things to down load. but 4 things to install. when you try to install them, some of them are a different file number then what it's called. ie. 2 is labeled 3, and 3 is labeled 2, etc...
(you can check this by opening the files install window. once you open it, check the name of the file it says you are installing. If I remember right "2 is labeled 3, and 3 is labeled 2" but I'm not sure. ) well ones I did it this way, My game of HTW started working.

    8) I guess all this is obvious to you, sorry if I was treating you like a noob.
I hope some of these tips can be of use to some one. I think they may be good to have in that first post of the Releases thread.

Check, I have both Medieval and Kingdoms
    2)
1)Check I tried instaling it in both a Sega folder and my Steam folder.
    2) I also made a copy and used the LauncherApp under the file Hyrule.
    3) I also tried changing my Hyrule file to "british_isles"
    4) I reinstalled it four times haha.

    3)
    1) have not tried other links yet. Thank you
    2) Not many of my friends are into it.
    3) Hmmm... that may be helpful. Wish I still lived at home
    4) I have a flash drive that might work!
    5) I know the rules haha.
    6) Done.
    7) I installed parts 1-2 then 3-4, and then the 3.5.1 patch for the game.

Thanks for the help though. You are kind of my favourite internet poster right now.

When I download it my computer just claims that "the system can't find the file specified"

Would I have anything to do with an over invasive virus scanner?
