    Hello friends,

    Has anyone encountered it? Are there any sollutions?

    I am new here, but the editor doesnt allow me to post this for some reason "Hello friends,
    for several months i was able to play this awesome mod without nearly any CTDs, undisturbed and happy. Now, i wanted to try something else (so far i have tried vampire counts, dwarves and empire campaigns) and challenging and i instantly fell in love with Kislev !


    Has anyone encountered it? Are there any sollutions?"

    Well, exept, i cannot, for some reason, get beyond the third turn. Turn 3 ends, everyone plays their part and then it goes to rebels turn and during it or immediately after at the start of turn 4, the screen goes black and i get the crash message. It seems no mater what i do, i always get the crash to desktop at the same time. Maybe a script army spawn gone wrong? What happens on the fourth turn?

    sorry for the multi-post, it looks really lame, but i am unfamiliar with the post filters here and it took me a long time to rephrase my post so it passes through :-/

    Dont tell me I am the only one out there who cant play Kislev campaign? :-/ It would be a shame, really, because i like the uniqueness of the faction. I tried a fresh install, repeated the steps precisely, to no avail. THen i tried to update Really bad AI to 5.7 and nothing (it crashed a turn sooner! :-/ )

    This kind of crash was usually caused by an error related to a spawning army or something similar. I thought all the early game ones were fixed a while ago... Could you upload your log file (in the "logs" folder in the main game catalogue)? It would shed some light on the problem.

    Now, i have poked a bit in the log and there seems to be 2 types of it. Either i get this one which complains about some wrong values here and there, or i get a log without those errors, which goes just like this:

    The effect is the same, rebels turn comes and immediate CTD. Sometimes i get to only turn 3, sometimes i get to turn 6. It usually lasts longer if i dont do anything just pass turns and if i buildy any building or move units and capture settlements, it crashes sooner. Might be just my own imagination.

    I tired to manually edit those wrong vales from the log, its fairly easy, but it just meant i get the second type log all the time and no real improvement. Do you think its a problem with Germanicus AI? I tried to update it to 5.7, dunno if i succeded, because the installer wont run so i manually copied the files. Nothing happened, game still crashes.

    Im heartbroken, i really want to play as a Kislevite, mainly because of the cool music ! :-D

    Play a few turns of the campaign as, say, Ostland to see if the crash is unique to Kislev. I'm using the AI provided with the mod without any stability issues BTW.

    My descr_strat contains the same values your log complains about, but there are no crashes. Strange. I'll try Kislev myself later and see what happens.

    I have already played Reikland and Hochland campaigns into turn 60-ish (then always some CTD happens, but w/e, i have had my fun already), also a Sylvania campaign to turn 20 (completely CTD free, but then i just lost, heh :-D )and a fun chaos dwarves campaign. Only the Kislev consistently crashes at some point in time.

    Now, i THINK its tied to a chaos army spawn because on turn 2 or 3 i get a warning about an army massing in the north to attack my cities. THen, presumably when it spawns, the game crashes. Thats my theory. Can someone play a few quick turns of Kislev and see if there is any significant spawn or other event in the first 6 turns? it mostly (90% of the time) happens on 4th turn.

    I've gotten to turn 48 on a Kislev campaign.

    Only crashes I had were during/after battles and one on the rebels turn.

    Can you tell me then if something significant happens in the first few turns, so that i can get to the bottom of this? :-( please ? :-(

    Got to the 6th turn, no crashes. No spawning armies attack Kislev in this period, later on Khornates turn on Praag and a Tzeentch host appears near Erengrad. But this hasn't caused any instability during my HE campaign. I think there are some Chaos armies spawning in Norsca in the first turns, but I doubt that's the reason.

    I don't have any further ideas. Try reinstalling the mod using the Gigantus' version, and make sure you get all the fixes.

    The strangest thing happened. I ineed tried a fresh install, but after doing it the game still crashed. Then i applied the patch 05 and the crashes stopped. THEN i applied all the hotfixes and they were back again for some reason. So now i am playing unhotfixed Kisled campaign and on turn 30 ! :-)

    That's... very odd. Oh well, this mod has always been quite strange when it comes to stability. Good luck with your campaign!
