Shield wall
Hi guys and gals(if there is any
). I know that Alex exe doesn't allow shield wall but how about ,like SPQR, arrange those numbers in the edu that determine the space between the each individual of the unit. Instead of going loose formation, why not change them to make the soldiers go closer to each other so that the space each shield is tightened. I do not use the loose formation much so I will not miss it if this is implemented.

That's something that I want to know, too. chris10 made it like that "fake shield" and it worked, but only before 2.5. The only way right now that you can make shield wall with the legions is to chance testudo with shield wall in the EDU. I tested that a lot and it seems that shield wall works pretty well with the legions. They suffer much lower casualties, also from enemy missiles and it looks just awesome!

you just have to change the spacing for the "loose" formation to something tighter, so when you click on "loose" the unit closes up instead of spreading out. You have to change the "formation" line in the export_descr_unit.txt for every unit you want to have the psuedo-shieldwall. The "Find" and "Replace" function in Notepad++ works well for this. Don't forget to make a back up.
-change the red numbers in the first line to the green numbers in the second line:
"formation 1, 1.66, 2, 3.33, 5," to
"formation 1, 1.66, 0.6, 1, 5,"
This is the setting that Chris10 used in the Five Good Emperors mod, it does make the Romans kind of OP though.
