So many thanks!!!
There are so many factions that would be difficult to play and win with them. That's what it counts
I imagine when i would be able to make Carthage the great capital of the glorious Numidian Kingdom, to play Arabian Wars with Nabata vs Sabaens, to make the Attalids the new Byzantine Empire, to capture Caucasus with the Bosporan Greeks and of course building a huge Indian Empire.
Not to mention the "Wars of the Barbarians" with so many factions in the western Europe. Every area of the map seems to be designed for war.
This is great, thanks.
Good lad. Does anyone know if Taksashila has its own culture slot or is hellenistic like Baktria?
IIRC, they added it to the 'Eastern' culture slot. Also, I think there, was an 'Indian Tribal' socio-political / religion slot. It would make sense Taksashila has that one.
EDIT: Source: FAQ http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...barorum-II-FAQ
Also, from the Taksashila preview:I'm sorry, I just felt like nitpicky thread-digging todayWe didn't. They exist quite happily in the Eastern Culture slot, as while the Satrapy was part of the Mauryan Empire, the ruling class of this region had been more heavily affected by the culture of Baktria and the Persian Empire.

I tend to edit my posts once or several times after writing and uploading them. Please keep this in mind when reading a recent post of mine. Also, should someone, for some unimaginable reason, wish to rep me, please add your username in the process, so I can at least know whom to be grateful towards.
My thanks in advance.
Uh,, Terra Incognita in Brittania and Ireland? You gotta be kidding me!
It's a strange one right enough. I know historically nobody did ever conquer them, but I think that they could have been. As a Scottish Islander myself, I think that the geography aspect wouldn't have been that much of a barrier, it really isn't that bad. That said, the climate may have been different back then for all I know.
I think in the end there's a limited number of provinces, so minor provinces on the edge of the map have to be sacrificed for more important regions.
Also means nobody will ever conquer the good part of Scotland in EB2!
We such little information and archaeological evidence for a large part of Ireland (not that the information is abundant for the other part), combined with the dispersed and decentralized living culture of the both areas, made us decide to turn these area into Eremos territory. Something we also decided for the inland regions of Sardinia and Corsica for one.
Anyway, Brennus can tell you more about the historical arguments and situation on this matter.
Not sure i like that but it's an easy enough thing to change if one really gets upset about it Mostly i never end up that far north so it makes no real difference, it just seems odd to not just make ireland one province and Caledonia another? It does make it so you'll be unable to get even basic help in those areas which could be very interesting.
Were there but a tree in this godforsaken place i would have hanged myself.
I was hoping Greek World will consist of more factions this time
as far as i can see on the map
greek factions
-macedon
-koinon helloinon
-ipeirous
hellenistic factions
-ptolemaioi
-seleucides
-pergamon
-bactria
i think they are more than enough.
dont even think about sparta they were at steady decline at the time.
And that Takshila and and the Saka Rauka will very likely have access to a large amount of Indo-Hellenic units.
I, for once, don't agree with the terra incognita choice in Britain and Irland. Sorry but we are not sure about History, we are sure about territory ! It is not like arabian desert where settlement where very difficult to maintain... We have almost three centuries in EB to make those terains habitables... I think it would have worth it !
But I respect what you did. Maybe I'll get them with cheatcode ?
An other thing : I was waiting for Belgae, actually ! I always thought you had incomporated them in the game !
I had to check back in the faq to be sure you didn't ! Maybe I dreamed it so much I thought it was reality
Hmm.. one thing about this map is a bit odd. Frisia and jutland seem to be the same province on this map. I find that a bit of a stretch. I have seen the original map it is based on, and it does look a bit that way, but even so I think it must be a mistake. If it isn't a mistake I would like to hear a member explain this choice.
Loads of factions. Just imagine the waiting turn time gives me the chill.
I suffered a lot with De bello mundi mod.
The Terra incognita is a minor change. It makes Caledonia slightly different cosmetically. The only lost provence is a Hibernian one, considering the limit on Provinces, that slot is probably better used in a more important area of the map.
I just think it odd that it's not just a single region (north and south made whole) as hibernia, though it might make it interesting to have wilderness like that where no units can be recruited.
