I got a strange interaction while using your mod. I'm playing as Rome, at war with Carthage, and stomping them pretty good. Well Maesaeslyi (whatever) offered me trade while they're still a client of Carthage, since our relations have gone up. A bit odd, eh? Haha
Yeah, strange things like that will happen a little bit. I tried to minimize the effect by limiting how much of the bonus with Carthage goes to Carthage's friends. I guess if you really wanted to strain a bit you could rationalize it as Masayaeli getting a little bit scared of you and offering you something in the hopes of ingratiating themselves with you, hedging their bets so to speak by playing off both sides.
I may end up taking out the positive war events bit. I'm not 100% convinced it does much. The bigger changes seem to come from making peace easier in general and to some extent I think from having changed the values for war so it starts out as a large - but quickly wears down to only a small minus.
I am going to give it a little more time, though.
Here's the screenshots, finally:

That was made mostly with patch 8, not 8.1, though. So I'm going to have to do another sim to see how much effect CA's supposed AI optimizing for major factions actually has.
Your mod made a huge difference for me! Especially the latest diplomacy update. After creation of 'Giving peace a chance' was waiting for some kind of submod, and here it finally is!
This is my appempt at peace treaty with Cherusci after I've defeated 3 of their armies and besieged their capital:

Glad to hear that. Still needs some polishing for sure, but the basic concept seems to work pretty well and seems to be movement in the right direction.
Does this sub mod work with CiG at all?
BTW, I am not at all impressed with the 8.1 AI so far. In fact, it seems worse than patch 8. I'll do up some screenshots tomorrow, but the tl;dr is that I'm seeing a lot of stupid major faction behavior involving oceans. Macedon went to invade Egypt with all its armies, leaving itself completely open to being steamrolled by sparta (even with the 60% upkeep penalty I gave sparta...), and Carthage went off to fight in Iberia with all its armies and let the Romans take over Africa. Both the sort of things that would never, ever happen with a functioning AI system. And both things that never happened in patch 8, even if the AI in patch 8 wasn't all that great. One thing that worked about patch 8 AI is that major factions wouldn't send all their armies way off across the sea with no one to defend their homelands. Not because it was smart, but just because the AI wouldn't prioritize invasions way far from itself.
This feels like a step backwards, not forwards. The ideas are not necessarily bad - Carthage sending armies off to Iberia and Macedon sending armies to take Palestine from Egypt were both interesting ideas. But the execution is awful. One army at least needs to be left in the home lands to defend.
I think most of 8.1 was focused toward BAI and just some toward CAI as being more aggressive. That's likely why you're seeing their homeland left open for attack.
patch notes:
- Improved AI parameter balancing: increased tactical focus and aggression, especially for major factions in both Grand Campaign and Gaul Campaign.
- Improved campaign AI raiding behaviour. AI factions are now more likely to raid during campaigns.
Not really. Well, I mean, the generic changes to recruitment and peace settings probably would.
But it doesn't do anything to the CiG campaign, and it isn't made with the CiG campaign in mind, so I'm not sure how it would work there if at all.
Hi Yuki,
since this morning the Carthage version of your sub mod don't want to launch. I played carthage campaign with your sub mod till yesterday without any problem, but now it prevents the game to start.
I also made a test with the roman version and it launchs correctly.
Please Fix it soon..
Merry Crhistmas
Seleucid version works fine. Time to finaly vassalise Egypt.
Could you buff Parthia in this version? Even if I ignore them, they ends beeing steamrolled by Bactria.
Yeah, this is something I had worked out in patch 7, but now in patch 8 seems to need to be revisited. I did up the buffs for Parthia, but it doesn't seem to have done much. The annoying thing is that in patch 8 I can't nerf the minor factions around Parthia any more, which was the obvious way to encourage Parthia to expand down that way, not towards Bactria instead. I am still working on a fix for this.
Edit: I think these versions of Carthage and Epirus would work with patch 8 again, but I'm working from memory. Updating to patch 8.1 beta is probably the easiest solution.

Why you delete downloads links from first post? Please bring it back![]()
Yeah, your Epirus Version has stopped working as well. Game hangs at startup. I believe it must be your mod because as soon as I unselect it in mod manager the game starts working again. Annoying as I was mid way through a campaign. Can you put links back in as other people have requested? This way if you release a bugged version we can continue to play with a previous?
Thanks for your efforts though, I was really enjoying the differences to recruitment and big factions being tough![]()
Are you all updated to patch 8.1 beta? I updated the mod to work for patch 8.1, which is why it may not work.
I will test to make sure all versions work with 8.1 now. They all work with 8.1 for me; if you are still having trouble let me know.
If for some reason you can't update to the 8.1 beta let me know what version you want and I can try to reverse engineer it so it'll work with patch 8 again.

Sorry, I should have said - I have the beta already. I tried your 8 version attached to next comment anyway but still the same - hangs on startup.
I then did some testing, the Seleucid version and Generic version work fine so it does seem like Epirus version is bugged, havent tried Carthage yet. I havent got time to try all the others now but I will over next couple of days if you can't figure it out. If there is anything in particular you want me to try then let me know.
For information I uninstalled the 4 other mods I was using (all GFX related so shouldnt matter anyway) leaving just DEI and your mod to ensure nothing weird.
The mod is awesome and I am not nagging for a fix, especially given it is XmasI am sure it will get figured out in time. Thanks
