Question about naval stats

Hi,

I was looking at the stats for the higher tier ships (the ones with say 15 attack and either 8 or 6 defense). I was wondering why the defense is so low (especially give they're more expensive than any other ship), I'm afraid to build them because I don't know how well they'll hold up in battle. Can anyone chime in on the matter?

We haven't attended to the naval stats yet - those are still the values from the original game\mod. It might be to emphasize the use as attack ships.

attack ships - high attack, low defense
transport ships - low attack, high defense
