Is there a mod to download that has these units?
Is there a mod to download that has these units?
My mercenary mods put some of the hidden units to use, such as the garmantians and cimmerians.

I want those Amazon units. And the war pigs. And screaming women.
Historical accuracy be damned.

I would say I concur with Top Hat Zebra except that I don't think historical accuracy needs to be damned for these units to be included. Rare does not mean ahistorical, and if I want to change history by conquering the world with a female army or an army of roasting bacon then, well isn't that the whole point of the game? No one's saying you're not allowed to conquer the world with a Pontic army of Cappadocian hillmen because it's ahistorical, are they?

Same here, i'd actually pay for the dlc unless it's very expensive. And they aren't really ahistorical, as far as i know Germanic women did defend their towns or go with the men sometimes as support/morale. And alot of Scythian graves have armed women buried in them, and i think i'v seen some more modern depiction of female scythian riders.
There might not have been that many, but this is a game about changing history. Germanic tribes didn't organise in spear units, sword units either. And if you want to conquer the world with flaming pigs, and female scythian archers, then you should be able to do so. If you don't want too, then you should be able to avoid it. So seeing as it might be a dlc, i'd say for the people who aren't interested in that sort of units simply don't buy it :p
You stay classy, CA. I'm going to mod these into my game now.
Very sad if these are all sold as dlc instead of some of them given with the free factions.
I'll hold off until a GOTY edition or bundle is announced.
Umm could we just take a second to talk about the fact that CA released JOKE DLC but not something like the mid-tier hidden units? Why? What's going on here![]()

I have a question for you all based on Bartholomew's quote from the Eurogamer interview (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...ive-assembly): "The DLC we're looking at here are essentially a different version following increased design, artwork and balancing to match the quality of the other units available. The final selection of units supplied in the game were extensive and we felt they represented excellent value."
Is there any way to compare the so-called "hidden" Camel cataphract unit and the "new" one released as part of the BoW DLC? I'm just curious what the actual differences are. Bartholomew makes it sound like they are completely different, but I have a suspicion that they probably aren't very different at all. I'd like to at least look at some objective data (stats, side-by-side skin comparison, etc.) before throwing around accusations, though.
Looks like the merc naked warriors' stats are different

Thanks for this. You're right - looks like the stats were slightly adjusted for balance. It looks like the biggest adjustment was 10 or 12 points (I can't read the numbers exactly on the Youtube video) and most were within 5-6 points.
That having been said, CA has used patches to adjust the stats of a number of different units that actually were included in the original release. So, it doesn't seem to me that being slightly unbalanced is the same as being "unfinished," or else they would have cut out many more units.
If a unit is skinned and animated and is approximately balanced (+/- 10 in each major stat), I don't see why it wouldn't be included in the original release.
Of course. But then again the release of this DLC obviously has nothing to do with the state of the game, i.e. whoever makes the decisions doesn't care about that. To me it's more interesting if they'll release some of the hidden units mentioned in the beginning of this thread as another DLC - I think it's quite likely, in one form or another.

Ok now we know that all the DLC units were in the game from the begining...
Seriously, CA are thieves...
So we should only expect a new DLC?
Who could unlock these units? Have a mod?

I really hope most of these "locked" units will somehow be implemented to the game via future DLC/free-LC.
Quite a few of them have been already. As for the Amazons, we'll just have to wait and see...
