Default fatigue on or off ?

I have got the impression that AI units are too soon out of their breath, especially when I use a defensive tactic.

On the other hand, if I attack, I let rest my men a bit before it comes to close combat, until they are fresh or winded. I am no dumb computer program after all ...

So what is your opinion: does it give better chances to the AI, if I turn fatigue off ?

In some battles I played as Makedonia against Epirous with fatigue turned off (new game), I didn't notice a difference in the final outcome (number of losses), as compared to earlier battles played with fatigue on.

The amount of stamina a unit has is determined by the 'hardy' or 'very_hardy' attributes in the EDU, or by having neither.

So you could mod your EDU to give all units the very_hardy trait, then keep fatigue on.

I think the game is perfect, except Thessalian cavalry are out of shape. The AI always exhausts my guys, so I don't know what you want to do.

Thanks for the tip, Titus. But I came accross an easier solution, which also doesn't flatten the differences between hardy and unhardy units: As a handicap for me, I investigate the battlefield before deploying, but leave my troops where they are. When the battle starts, I have them move or run to the position I selected before. So they lose some stamina themselves. It seems my losses are bit higher now, giving me a slightly more "realistic" feeling.
