    Sack of Stoney Sept


    Having sacked Pinkmaiden, Lord Desmond Crakehall and his Stormcrow mercenaries continue south towards the town of Stoney Sept. His men stand ready to siege the town and take it by force if need be. The inhabitants are asked to surrender for their benefit. If they refuse, their blood will fill the streets and fountains of Stoney Sept.

    The defenders of the Stony Sept line of the walls of the castle. They only number 200 men strong.

    Garrison Composition:
    75 Light Inf
    50 Heavy Inf
    25 Polearms
    30 Archers
    20 Light Cavalry
    10 Heavy Cavalry

    Surrender Roll: It will be a 19/20 roll for surrender. Rolled a 20, so the defenders of the Stony Sept refuse to surrender to Lord Crakehall, forcing him to put the castle to siege.

    Siege Preparation Time: (2 x 12 hours) = 24 hours - (3 x 6 hours) = 6 hours wait time, which has already passed. I will just need your orders before I roll the assault.

    Orders
    1. Archers and crossbowmen are to fire volley after volley onto the walls, all the while standing behind a wall of infantry.
    2. Once enough men on the walls have been killed, heavy infantry followed by light infantry, are the scale the walls.
    3. Once the walls are taken, the gates are to be opened to allow in the cavalry.
    4. Cavalry should maneuver along the outer streets to avoid being trapped. Infantry are to target infantry with cavalry targeting the archers.
    4. Every soldier and civilian is to be killed their defiance. No mercy/quarter is to be given.
    5. The city is to be sacked, then burned to the ground.

    Crakehall Men: 500 Archers, 500 Crossbowmen
    Stony Sept Men: 30 Archers, 75 Light Inf

    Crakehall Archers/Crossbowmen Killed: 15 Archers, 15 Crossbowmen
    Crakehall Archers/Crossbowmen Remaining: 485 Archers, 485 Crossbowmen

    Stony Sept Defenders Killed: 30 Archers, 50 Light Inf

    Result: All cavalrymen are slaughtered by the Crakehall Archers and Crossbowmen before they can even reach the Crakehall lines.

    Phase 3: Attack on the Walls
    Crakehall Men: 2,000 Heavy Inf, 800 Light Inf
    Stony Sept Men: 30 Light Inf

    Result: Stony Sept men are slaughtered to the last man, 10 Crakehall Heavy Inf and 5 Crakehall Light Inf are killed.

    Result: The Stony Sept defenders are swept from the field in one triumphant charge. The defenders are wiped out before they can kill any of Crakehall’s men.

    Result:
    The Crakehall Soldiers easily win the siege of the City and begin their rampage.

    The Stony Sept is considered a minor settlement.

    Minor settlement: A small town surrounded by a pallisade including a small garrison (usually with a maximum of 2+ fortifications). Capturing this settlement yields D20 x 1000 Stags, to be distributed by the King or Campaign leader

    Pillage Roll: Rolled a 15, so 15 x 1,000 = 15,000 loot.
