thanks Ferich! and welcome to forum
Great to have the option 'Release' !!
I'm feeling so mercyful lately...
EDIT: Can the AI capture and ransom prisoners as well?
hmm... but is there still that helpful slaughter prisoner button while in battle?
I loved that button, one press and you could hear dozens of people being brutally slaughtered!Originally Posted by Shaio

That prisoner captured picture has more people than I'd let be alive long enough to be captured. Oh wait, they are all peasant rabble that would run away and get off the map edge before I could kill all of them anyway. I'm suprised we can get so much gold out of them.![]()

lmfao. the sound from that kill prisoner button was what really made it worth it.
just like the sound of an entire enemy army being burnt alive in stronghold was what made picth traps worth it.
i make no claim at being normal. XD
on the other hand i wonder exactly what kinda diplomatic effects the prisoner thing could have.. releasing them odiously is meant of be a show of kindness..... or a grave insult.
well there obvious effects on the person who's troops it is.. but will it have any effect on there Allies outlooks on you? or what other random fractions think of you?
IE: if you execute prisoners after every single battle will people become afraid to go to war with you unless there sure of victory? or will it just be a good way to up your dread stat?
gah... so many questions.... and ill probly have to wait till November to get the answers... XD
Executing them will probably increase your dread stat while Releasing will increase your Chivalry stat.
Don't quote me on that but it sounds like the obvious thing to do.
Sounds right to me. Exterminating prisoners should be the smarter way of gaining dread as opposed to killing off a settlement's valuable populace.Originally Posted by Cuahchiqueh

Man thats my error messege. Like i get any error it sounds like theres lots of people burning to death. Good for freaking out other people.Originally Posted by Shaio
I too want to hear that execution sound during battle again.. Sooooo juicy![]()
Besides the dread and chivalry, is there any other effects if you execute/ransom/release them? I mean, will faction get really ****** off if I kill 5 of their generals? Or will they be more kind if you let soldiers go?

How would one go about capturing prisoners?
SnArF|D, it happens during battles, and it looks like the good old MTW prisoner button is back for the battle map, which shows how many prisoners you've caught, and also lets you kil them all with a touch of a button.

Do they have to be routing to be capturable?
