The Arrest of Princes (Open RP)

The Queen wasted no time in issuing the orders:

By order of the Queen, the Princes Matarys and Aerys are to be arrested on charges of High Treason against King Baelor. All Lords, knights, and soldiery in the capitol is hereby enlisted to enact the arrest.

They shall be held in the black cells until a trial will be held.

ooc: I suppose they're due some sort of escape roll,though given Poach's RP of the lockdown on King's Landing I can't imagine it being better than a 19/20 chance.

A servant had told Lord Baratheon of the arrest warrant for Prince Aerys and Matarys. He came over with a few guards on hand, finding the Queen issuing orders to groups of Goldcloaks near her.

What in Seven hells is going on? Why was I not consulted in this warrant I am hearing about?

Lord Baratheon steps forth, put his weight before the Queen. His eyes looking directly at her.

My Queen, the King has left the Lord Hand in charge of all affairs of the realm and that of the capital while he was away. And if I remember correctly, I am the Hand of the King! I will not let my authority be stepped upon. Authority granted to me by His Grace! I will perform my job as empowered by the King.

His gaze turns to Raymar and the Goldcloaks, gesturing to the captured Aerys.

The King commanded that Aerys be sent to the dungeons before he departed. We will have to call upon Matarys, who is in the loop of this conspiracy. He is currently at Hayford and must be arrested as well. Lord Commander, send away Aerys to the dungeon and begin the systematic detainment of his soldiers.

Lord Baratheon then turns to Ser Cedric.

And you, lower your sword. The Kingsguard nor anyone will not harm the captive until His Grace returns and decides upon the fate of Matarys and Aerys. That is the King's order!

His gaze turns once more to the Queen.

And I cannot do my job if you keep overstepping my role, My Queen. I was well aware of the arrest, only you moved without my cooperation. Now we can either follow the King's order and leave me in charge in the King's absence or we in cooperation. But I will not be stepped upon and let my authority be made a mockery of.

OOC: Isn't Matarys at Hayford right now? If he's not, then, well,

OOC: There is supposed to be an edit requesting the presence of Matarys at the capital that the Queen and Lord Hand send out.

ooc: I honestly have no idea. I thought Matarys was in the capitol. If not then obviously only Aerys could be captured right away and whatever Matarys does is completely up in the air.

The Queen's eyes sparkled. Just hours ago she had been planning what she thought was the impossible. Now a Targaryen stood before her, one cut throat closer to her final goal. She regarded the man with disgust.

"Aerys Targaryen, you stand accused of High Treason - the amount of evidence gathered against you even at this hour is staggering. There can be no denial or question of your guilt. What do you have to say for yourself?"

Ser Tristifer entered the great hall accompanied by some goldcloaks and Aerys Targaryen. With his crimson cloak waving behind him, he proudly walked forth to the Queen. I can finally prove my comitment to the Queen... ​he thought as he kneeled.

"My Queen, we have captured this traitor. He was trying to escapr through the Mud gate, but we stopped him."

OOC: I think Gobelina is going to RP it as a Queensguard action. Keep Cedric around though, the Queen isn't done with him.

Being one of the few knights of the Kingsguard left in the Red Keep, Cedric couldn't help but see how the Queen and the Hand argued and the arrival of one of the notorious Queensguards

Raymar Lefford appeared hastily in the hall, brought out from his brooding in his office by word that the King - somehow - had finally believed him. Arriving with his six guards, he noted a Queensguard member had already rallied some of his own men and secured the Prince.

He moved up the side of the Great Hall, eyeing Aerys as he moved. The Queen had just started dictating the charge against him.

Aurelia quickly turned to Raymar. "My lord, secure the city. Ensure that Aerys men are neutralized in one way or another."

"Your Grace," ​he said with a nod, leaving the hall.

Morrigen laughed sourly

"Good ol' Lefford could be more discreet about where his loyalty lies"

He wanted to see the look on Baratheon's face as people took orders from the Queen and not from him
