What will be the next total war game?

I just want Barbarian -or Hunnic- Invasion expansion before next Total War game. I also would love to play Rise of Islam (7th-8th c. is my favourite era).

Empire 2 1700-1900 is only game i would buy after that piece of crap they call Rome 2.
Rome 2 has amazing siege battles, but besides that, complete crap.

I'd love to see a World War I TW game!! They did Empire so I can see that it would be possible. Imagine having your troops go "over the top" for an attack..Maybe even have WWI aircraft flow over head on occasion having dog fights or dropping bombs on the front line...or could have it where you can call in air strikes or whatever? additionally, maybe call in artillery bombardments but it would certainly be VERY entertaining and cool if the folks at Creative Assembly can do this. Now if Creative Assembly wants to get personally interactive with their customers (hint) how about having a list of the next total war games and we the customers vote on which game platform we want? Lets do it!!!

Yeah rise of Islam is a fun idea, however I see that more as an expansion for Rome 2, you have Dark Ages Frankish Empire, Roman Empire in the east, Sassanian Persia more far to the east, and Arabs to the south, a really fun setting for a full scale Rome 2 expansion in my opinion.

If they don't sell each individual campaigns of every famous man of the era : Caesar in Greece, Caesar in Egypt, Caesar in Spain, Scipion in Spain, Hannibal in Italy, Scipion and Hannibal in Africa, Phillip II in Greece, Antiochos III in the East, Antiochos III in Syria, Antiochos III in Asia Minor, Spartacus in Italy, Germanicus in Germany, Claudius in Britain, Trajan in Dacia, Marc Aurelius at the Danibe, etc ...

But "logic" shows what will follow...
Take a look in the animations of the Steppe tribes pack...Also take a look in their equipment..
Sarmatian knights of Arthur can be made easily...That means that IF sarmatians are available Huns can be available with no cost but only with some re texturing of existing models.
German tribes are READY ,settlements are READY, what remains is anumber of new "Roman" models because Sassanids also use same armors like Parthians.
That way CA can sell us "nothing" under the name of Barbarian Invasion 2 with great profit.
A dlc that will be after the settle of barbarians in the west empire's lands is more chalenging thanks to the need for creations of Goths and Vandals but do not be surpriced if Goths and Vandals look same as German tribes look now! From the Roman part though , artilery units are the same any way so the work that may be done for barbarian Invasion may be usefull-not accurate but usefull- for Romans.
CA has proven though that "afraids" to "touch" Islam and its armies...Maybe the company afraids that western customers do not want to see an accurate portay of Islam and may also afraid about retaliations or boycot by Arabs if they will feel that the Islamic armies did not portay accuratly.

Future is closer that we think...We will see what CA has in mind...soon...

No, the dark ages are between the Roman era (fall of Rome) and the Medieval era. Medieval era did not start immediatly after the Roman era ended.

I would like to see a total war game in which Civilization meets total war. Whole world, no focus on a certain time span and much more factions.

Actualy you are wrong, Dark ages is early medieval era. And this is why;
- The term "Middle Ages" it implies an intermediate period between Classical Antiquity and the "Modern era.
-Dark ages isnt exactly an Era. Mostly because it doesnt apply to most of Europe, its mostly a anglo-Saxon, and northen europe "thing"
- Arround the mediterranean, there wasnt a Dark age, since pretty much the events, and culture is very well documented in that part of the world. To simply put Dark age is named at the early medieval era. It is a word rarely used by historians today because of the value judgment it implies, its very decieving, and not acurate.
-IT is my belief that Dark age is mostly a myth, on several things. Historians used to believe in the virtual disappearance of urban life, in that era, wich is now considered a ridiculous notion.
-Originally the term characterized the bulk of the Middle Ages, or roughly the 6th to 13th centuries, as a period of intellectual darkness between extinguishing the "light of Rome" after the end of Late Antiquity, and the rise of the Italian Renaissance in the 14th century, ( this definition was characterized in the 17th century, and meant all the midlle ages) so you can see how broad, and volatile the term is, in its interpretation.

Early middle ages, are an interesting age though, that seen the rise of islam, and the Arabic empire, and a resurgent of the eastern roman empire (Byzantines), and in central Europe the Carolinian empire that would create France, and the holy roman empire.

We don't even know when Rome 2 ends. The real question about the next TW is "how many pieces will they chop off of it in order to sell it?" I hope CA bites the dust and chokes on it for their current policy.
