The Siege of the Dreadfort
Due to -5 Stability, a peasant revolt occurs. 1,350 Archers and 3,150 Light Infantry beseige the Dreadfort.
Defeating them will grant you +1 Stability. Until they are defeated you cannot leave your castle. You have 50% of your own levy, none of your vassals send troops.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
The rebels send forward a middle-aged man with one eye, evidently a veteran of wars in the past.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
A single rider covered in furs and in thick grey steel spurs his horse forward and energetically trotted in a circle, a bastard flung across his back.
"I am Ser Dorren of House Manderly, Knight of the Wolf's Den and represenative of my lord brother the Warden of the North and of Lord Edwyle Stark of Winterfell. Who do I have the honour of speaking to?" he demanded proudly.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"Edwyle." said the man simply, spitting after he did so.
"What do you want?" he asked, venom in his voice.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"Edwyle, bah! A lord's name for a leader of the smallfolk. Very suitable, me thinks. I have come here to parlay, Edwyle of the Dreadfort, in the vanguard of an army numbering thirty thousand men. What are the demands of your folk?" Ser Dorren asked, quite taking a liking to the gruff old man. This is a true man of the North, not the arse lickers my brother deals with at White Harbour.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"We want our absentee southern Lord to cease his tyranny." said the man, "Many died in winter as he demanded ever greater taxes. Even Bolton was better than this."
"We want a proper Northern Lord!" shouted one from the ranks, greeted by a general cheer.

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"Prince Aerys is a Targaryen, a member of the royal family. Those with dragons. You parents must have told you of Good Queen Alysanne and her dragon Silverwing, who flew to the Wall. Or of the Old King Jaehaerys and his mount Vermithor! Or of Aegon the Dragon and his two sister-wives" Ser Dorren shouted back at the ranks. "Prince Aerys is honourable, elsewise why would the Stark of Winterfell have given him the Dreadfort? Would you rather have Bloody Bolton back?"

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"Aye!" shouted one, met by another cheer.
"Bolton didn't leave us to starve while demanding more taxes to fund his intrigues far to the south." said Edwyle angrily, "Bolton was of the North. This Prince isn't. He cares not for our suffering, he cares not for our land, he cares not for his own bloody keep. He cares only that our money comes down to him in the city in the sun. Bastard."
Edwyle spat on the ground once more.
"Get to your point, Ser, or leave us to ours."

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
As you command.
"The good Lord Manderly offers your men 5,000 golden dragons if you lay down your arms and march with me south. This is more gold than all of you combined would have seen in a lifetime. More than enough to buy food and seeds. As Warden of the North, he frees you from your oaths to the Lords of the Dreadfort and to your lands. He offers the common lands in the White Knife Valley for you to settle and transport for your families once the war is over. The White Knife is much more fertile and warmer than the Weeping Water and can grow twice as much crops. If you pledge your swords to him, he will give you a better life than you could have ever dreamed of. After all, the Manderlys reward their men-at-arms and you will have earned such rewards. Serve well, and some might even be knighted and join Lord Manderly's household guard."

Edwyle shrugged."Meets our needs."
[ooc: I'll officially dissolve this siege when I see the -5,000 in your vault thread.]

Re: The Siege of the Dreadfort
"If that is so, welcome, brother-in-arms," Ser Dorren proclaimed loudly for all the army to hear and offered his hand.
OOC: Done.
