    Default Question for a texture. solved

    I make an some units for PI and i have a problem.

    Here is the question. the pics above have different details, of the plume that i see in MS3d here is what i see.

    i even put the original texture file and the same result, does anyone now why?

    He is talking about the transparency. The one in game looks like a solid block instead of feathers that lighten out at the ends and between patches. I didn't do much with transparency so I don't know a proper answer for this...

    Yes this is problem, the transparency is not 100% it makes those black things.

    I'm not much experienced but could it be due to the Alpha channel in the normal texture?

    I think this is it, because it wont hapend without the normal texture in Ms3d, thank you i will try it

    The alpha channel in the normals texture has nothing to do with this (afaik), all it does is regulates how shiny the texture is. White means extremely shiny, and black means it is not. It is the alpha channel in the diffuse texture that you want to edit.

    Make sure that the alpha colors are only either Black (invisible) or White (Visible). Any color in between (grey) will not be accepted by the M2TW engine.

    I have test it and it was not the normal map. no screen because it was the same.

    If you are asking about the blackness on the edges, it is because your alpha mask is bigger than the actual texture. I had a similar issue and fixed it by decreasing its size. Like BM said game treats transparency a little differently than milkshape. It doesnt work well with grey tones. Great units btw.
