    Default export_descr_unit

    Hello,

    I am trying to modify my game a bit by editing the export_descr_unit file.
    The problem is I found two of them in my SS mod folder;

    1. Data\export_descr_unit
    2. Data\campaign\sub\DisableRR\export_descr_unit

    Which one do I modify?

    If you didn't disable RR, the first one.

    Ok, the first one it is, thank you

    So, if it is really just the same file in two different places, would it hurt if I just replaced the other file also with the one i plan to modify when I am done with it?

    you really can't hurt anything much messing in the mod files, just make a backup of the original and if something goes wrong just replace it again. Or just reinstall ss, doesn't take that long either way.

    but to answer the question specifically, not there different files, as the disable rr file has different values and such i'd assume due to recruitment restrictions being removed, thus when you click it as on the ss_setup it uses that disable rr file to overwrite the default one.

    I wonder what the differences are, since disabling RR is supposed to get rid of the historical time appearances of units, which would be done in the EDB.

    Well they both have 645,451 bytes and were both modified last time at 1/7/2011 so I naturally though they were the same file.

    So basically if I decide to remove RR for some reason(like loving the gunpowder units so much I refuse to wait so long) I should then modify the Data\campaign\sub\DisableRR\export_descr_unit file and ignore the Data\export_descr_unit file?

    Ok, I have tested this and it seems that Data\campaign\sub\DisableRR\export_descr_unit is useless since the changes I made in that file were ignored both when I started a new campaign while using disabled RR or without the disablement.
    The edits made on the main export_descr_unit file in the SS folder on the other hand affected the game both when RR was disabled and enabled.

    Thoughts?

    Another question

    I cannot find the following units by using their names in the descr_unit file;

    Verlorene Haufe
    Noble foot knights

    Under what name are they in the file?
