    Default Highlight all button.

I wonder if its possible to mod the highlighted circle around the soldiers when you click the hightlight button in the centre of the HUD. I remember in RTW the original the circles would be filled with color so it would be much easier to see. I want this in RTW2 as well. Only way to really spot soldiers is to zoom in to see the circles..

You really can't see those? I use 'highlight all' all the time to spot units (I hate the permanent selection circles option in the UI). I guess they might get a little dim depending on how far out you set the camera zoom.

In any case, the attached mod fills the circle and makes it much brighter. I used 100% white alpha... you could tone it down. The 2 files which relate to the selection circles are...

    indicator_selector_units_mouse_over_diffuse.dds
    indicator_selector_units_selected_diffuse.dds

The first is the one tied to the button, but also to the mouse-over if you have the circles turned on in the UI options. I presume you have that off though if you're using the button. Also, the circle is actually about ankle high (so filled it clips there) but that shouldn't matter either for your purpose. Mod contains just the first file.

edit: Forgot about ships... those are updated in data_rome2.pack. The unit circles are in data.pack (unchanged). Let me know if you need more help.

Does anyone know how to remove unit highlighting when you move mouse over them or click on them? That effect is annoying and i would like to see it removed.

I agree completely. It's distracting and it also ruins screenshots.

I would either try to eliminate the related shader function or the mouse-over check. Unfortunately, without access to source code for shader effects or UI script events, that one seems out of reach.

    Stumped
