Default Concerning future DLC or expansions...

I would like it stated on the record that the only addition to Rome 2 that I would be willing to spend money on would have to contain a map expansion (either further into Asia or Africa, preferably adding India).

I won't pay for fixes, I won't be paying for new factions... just things that cannot be added by modders.

Just thought I'd throw this out there.

Then you won't be buying any DLCs. You're not paying for fixes as well.

It almost seems like they have same spokeperson as CA... Funny how today's games are released unfinished/untested, just to have developers feeling "sorry" and releasing such statements...

Re-reading the stuff from DICE it is to my understanding that the problems with BF4 are related to issues people not be able to play the game and that is indeed a serious issue like connectivity and stability. That is indeed serious since BF4 is primarily an MP game (does it have SP ?) and connectivity and stability is the core thing.

Base on what I see with Rome II, CA is correct to deal that part (game now working for some) with earlier patch. The thing is now Rome II is very much playable, though the reasons people playing or not playing are more towards the design issue and no amount of fix can do if one does not like the design issue.

There are other bugs like siege AI etc but those are not big enough to call everyone, including the janitors and security guards to stop what they are doing and all go to fix the game.

So your encouraging CA to cut off modding to make more money? That is the exact signal I see if you are not willing for modding to co-exist with paid product.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I was trying to say that if they're going to be doing expansions and DLC in the future, I'd much rather see them expand the map, say more into central Asia and India, than do what they did with Gaul.

In principal, I believe fixes aka patches shouldn't be paid for. They should be expected of the company if they want to keep their fan base pleased. Any fixes included in the expansion should be available to everyone, because they're fixing something broken in the game that shouldn't have been like that in the first place.

This doesn't discourage modding, it encourages creative expansions that actually, you know, expand the game.

Any fixes that come with the expansion would apply to the base game of course. No company is going to make you pay for patches.
Not even EA is that evil.
Yet. Maybe in a few years EA might reach that level...

EA is the lesser of two evils in this situation. The article clearly shows that at least EA realizes there is a problem with battlefield 4. CA either shifts the focus of their problems or ignores them completely just like EA in most instances. they say words like "some people" or "the problem isn't actually"

like Robb stark said any words that come before 'but' dont really count

I don't follow Battlefield 4 at all, so I haven't heard about any problems it might be having.
Either way, if you think CA is worse then EA then... well, we know how far this forum has fallen already.

Please, my avatar is from a video game.
And well, I've noticed a trend of people with sigs that are negative towards Rome 2 also, but I don't feel the need to point that out...

So, CA did not acknowledge the problem by first releasing an apology followed by various statements on the problems with the game and patching process to the extent of answering specific questions that arose in the forums?

No I guess. The EA that I know is the one that makes my wife quits gaming. The Sims series is the only game wife wife played and she stopp right after the release of Sims add-ons.
