It just happened north of Kydonia. Unfortunately, the memorial has been planted amongst the shattered debris of the Greek ships on the ground of the sea. So it is not visible on the surface map.

It didn't even sunk!?
In RTRPE the opposite happened to me. Two small rebel vessels defeated my whole Aegean fleet!

It does happen from time to time. Seems to be pretty random though.
Random ??? Dare to tell that to admiral Alakaios, face to face !!
Here the battle statistics:
It seems Poseidon smiles on the Makedon fleets these years.
Alakaios died a seafarer's death some years ago, but a small fleet led by admiral Hippostratos, which was to bring a diplomate to the Casse capital, was pestered by several pirate fleets, here two of the results:
There tend to be huge stacks of pirates in the Baltic and North Sea, occasionally venturing into the Med. As a Mediterranean faction, I tend to assemble a fleet of between three and six units of Triereis, Tetrereis, and/or (if you have access to them) Trieremiolai, and go after them. Barbarian factions need to be a bit more careful though.

I do the same. I send 2 or 3 fleets of 2 Quadreme's(I love history, but I cannot spell it all, I know that's wrong...) each if I'm entering that part of the sea...![]()
