Marvius! What is the difficulty you play?
Generally if the campaign difficulty is higher than medium ..AI gets bonuses from CA
im playing it on a medium and hard level... :hmmm: and the roman family are tough.. hehe ... what i did is i take carthage and the whole africa before the scipii take it... but the scipii gone east taking greece and macedon...and the whole part of it leaving the brutii a few lands to conquer they even take thrace, scythia and dacia..... so the scipii became stronger than the brutii... and have the power on the east... as the civil war came this is it... my big problem.. spqr declare me as enemy... but the brutii and scipii are still ally... they hammered me marching all their legion... on the north taking germania from me... but i notice on the south ... the AI scipii leave only one mybe three garrison troops without governor and what the heck no squalors at all....one by one while scipians are busy on the north silently im taking the lands on the south...i used hold the line tactics on the north while divide and conquer on the souths... bwahahahaha
Agreed but this was a bigger problem in Vanilla. I find that DM is better but you still need far larger garrisons than the AI to keep order. (I play on Medium Campaign Hard Battles at the moment).
Going back a bit - does anyone know how CA managed the difficulty levels in Medieval TW as I'm sure they did it without giving the AI ludicrous bonuses.
I am not sure whether difficulty level influenced campaign A.I.: it is quite possible there wasn't any difference. On the battlemap, the A.I. would get smarter at higher difficulty levels, that is: it would become more cautious and less easy to trap. At easy the A.I. would not respond to envelopment moves or scout for ambushes, but at hard it would. It also received a slight stat boost at hard level, but it was barely noticable; just enough to make the A.I. win when all other things were equal. At expert it received a somewhat bigger stat bonus (still nowhere near what the R:TW A.I. receives) and a good morale bonuses as well.Originally Posted by Achilleus
Yep, that was my feeling based on what I could observe of the AI. I hope they return to that kind of difficulty gradient in M2TW as I think that just giving the AI bags of cash is a bit of a cop out.
You mean ludicrous = ludicilous
I have no clue and I believe none knows the internal CA plans.
i was wondering if there is anyway of decreasing the distance from capital penalty?
i wanted to decrease it a bit for the europa270 map if possible.
