I would like to say a few words...

This mod owns! Thank you, The Lordz, for providing this excellent mod of very high quality.

This is undoubtedly one of the best mods available. If CA put out a mod for the Napoleonic Era, they could have done no better. Heres my analysis in a nutshell:

Negatives:

Relatively few. Basically the fact that there are only two playable factions and no campaign are my only concerns. If a mini campaign were added (say Napoleon's attack into Russia) then I would hands down say this is the best mod out there.

Positives:

-Completeness: Every aspect of what is available in this mod is complete. There are LOD's, sprites, new animations, sounds, interface, and especially the brilliant skies etc. The care and attention to detail is magnificent. This makes immersion simply amazing, and will make this a personal favorite of mine even when M2 and other games come out.

-Mod Switch: The fact that you can still play RTW with this mod (albeit unmodded) is a huge plus. For this of us who do not like to utilize actual mod switch programs, this is an easy way to add in essence a completely new game to your computer while still retaining the RTW you love.

-Coding/Scripting: Huge props to the coders and scripters on this team. Things such as gunfire, cannons, etc were often thought to be impossible to put into the parameters of the Rome engine, but it was done here with remarkable success. The historical battles are great as well, with the arrow prompts etc it really adds a new dimension to the feel of it. I cant imagine the talent required in this field to get all of this working. In a similar respect, the animators did a splendid job, especially with the animations for the cannons.

-Modelling: I dont think I even need to say that the models are top notch. Nuff said.

-FPS: I cant speak for everyone, but I can play with more units in N2 than any other mod. For some reason I get AMAZING performance, so if this is intentional good work, and if not, well then its a nice little perk.

(Btw there are 3 playable factions, it's just the Russians suck, because initially the French where the shooty ones and the Russians where the melee army, and now the British are the shooty army and the French are the melee army, and the Russians are left out in the cold, so to speak.)

This is the most fun I've had playing a mod since RTR 6.0

Very glad you have enjoyed it. As for the poor Russians, fear not; Waterloo version 1 is only the second version of the game. There were a lot of changes to the game that have an impact one might not fully appreciate until there is widespread play, so NTW2 will only get better with age.
