I used to post at the .com site but a friend suggested i come here. I havn't seen any official comments but was wondering if they would actually release mod tools or make the new game more mod friendly. I know people who do mods for other games and they would like to come to do a mod for this if they didn't have to hack everything to do it like with the old game.

Welcome to the forum, this is probably the wrong area to post it but it will get moved if it is.

Anyways, we haven't heard anything about mod tools sadly, I'm guessing it will be the same old complicated way.

I'm hoping for a less hardcoded game, but modding tools are a little out there.

I mean if they did release any, it would great and a lot of new modders could start with a little help or assistance, but editing txt files is only a small part of the game...

Greetings on forums Amalith. Afaik next game in Total war series, Medieval 2 TW will be much more friendly for modders, developers have quoted about it somwhere. Sorry, can give you link or text, its saved only in my head, unfortunately =(
