Remove unit banners

How do I remove unit banners?

I go into the preference file and change true to false beside show_banners and nothing happens. What is it that I am doing wrong?

:hmmm: Strange... it should work... have you restarted the game after changing them?

EDIT: If you're trying it out in the campaign you'll probably need to start a new one (what matters is the settings you have when you started it)

All I am playing is custom battles. I turned the preference to false, but I still see the banners.

did you use the right file, there are two on rtr, use the one in the rtw folder not the preferences folder. Plus did you save it?

I used that one and nothing happened.

unit banners in the campaign map? press J on the campaign map.

welll preferencce file called before the game loads so u have to load the game again and remember to save the file after u have edited it

Not sure why it wasn't working.

I uninstalled then reinstalled and it works now.
