    Default Video/graphics settings for RTW

Hello people, I am certain that a lot of you already have answered topics like these, but it felt unappropiate to me, to ask in some other persons thread whether I should run with high AA or low AA etc.

So here goes, my computer specifics are as following :
    Amd athlon 64 3200+
    1024 crosair value dual channel
    ati X800XL gfx
    400 watt northQ psu
    Dfi nf4 chipset motherboard.

I suppose that's everything you people need to know to state your opinion

I just ran a quick battle with everything maxed out on 1280x1024.

I noticed the whole scene lagging when I was crossing over the battlefield, this seems a bit frustrating, just a bit, since it seems important to flow across the screen to watch out for a flanking light/heavy cavalry trying to sneak past your line of sight only to jump out of the bushes 3 seconds after and start chewing upon my archers or whatever. Are there some specific settings which would be a bad idea to put on high/highest/whatever with my computer speccs? And have you guys noticed ''slight'' difference when turning on/off some specific settings?

    Responses are greatly appreciated.

    Regards Hoger

First put unit model detail on high or medium not highest as you get no sprites. Don't think there's a difference between high and medium though. Take shadows off if you still have problems, you will still see some anyway. If you have further problems or want to keep the shadows then lower the resolution a bit. Otherwise take the grass down to medium that is usually quite a difference from high but not visualy. All of the above will still give you good visual quality and give you substantial fps. I have a similar system so this is most likely to work.

Actually Vanquisher, there's a difference between medium and high, the distance view.
In high sprites only appear at a longer range than in medium, whilst in highest they don't appear at all...

Ok ok hold on a second, my dictionary says a ''sprite'' is some kind of fairy or an elf, and I sure haven't spotted any elves or fairies in this game! So I don't know what exactly you two are refering to, when you are talking about sprites, so please clearify .

I will try adjusting some of the suggested settings, thank you so far, further responses are of course appreciated.

Sprites are drawing representations of the units that you can see when you zoom out (except on highest).

In MTW you see them even when fully zoomed in...

    @ Vanquisher

So did I, but then I had a deep look at it and found it out, I'm playing with graphic settings all the time
In each battle I spend more time testing the graphics than actually playing it
