    Default LAN issues.

Hello friends I am stuck on a problem that I have not encountered before. When I try to play with my buddies over the Local Area Network I cannot see them in the lobby and therefore cannot see the game. However the 3 of them can see each other just fine but cannot see me. Is there something that I might have done to compromise my LAN setting on MTW2? Because I can connect to them on other games over LAN.

Thank you in advance for trying to help me solve this.

    Bump,

    Methods tried:

Disabling firewall, opening ports, I can ping the target computer through the LAN but still cannot see players in the LAN lobby.

I'll let you know beforehand I'm rusty at this but please do the following - check your [medieval2.preferences.cfg] file and tell me what you see after the line "use_ip=". Good luck!

There is nothing after it. No value is entered.

Just on an off-chance, have you tried different values? You can set the file to read-only to keep the game from undoing your handiwork.

Entered in my current IP address and it still didn't work. I tried the default gateway and when I clicked on local area network ingame, it told me LAN unavailable. I'm really confused as to why this is happening. Could it be something in the registry?

Maybe. I have found some strange over the years. I have also had to change some registry value with my fingers crossed.

What lobby are you using to try connecting? Hamachi? Have you made sure that all necessary ports are open on your modem/router?

If oyou are trying to use Hamachi and have Gamespy arcade installed you probably will have to uninstall Gamespy to get it to work.

If I use hamachi it works and I can see the other players. But I really don't wanna use hamachi. I don't get why I can see on hamachi and not on my LAN.
