Attention all Muslim

Happy Ramadan!!! I just wanted to open this thread to see how many Muslims we now have on TWC, because there are many new Muslim members joining. So I'm going to make a poll too, to see who is Muslim. Also, I just want to use this thread so all the Muslims can basicly, get together and know who eachother are, and discuss internal Islamic problems and concerns.

I am from Bosnia originally.I am not new here, I just havent been active for quite some time.Usually I just lurk around, waiting for some cool news about TW series.Try to avoid Thema Devia but it draaags me in!

I fasted for 4 days...but could not hold it out.(I have a hot girlfriend ) Also I started in new schoool, working with new software and since i am waiting for new cpu before i can work with it at home...I need to be fully concentrated at school.I will fast 27th day and finally after 10 years do Bajram namaz.

What is Murtad, mirage41?Wonder if i fit in that cathegory ? what do you mean ethnically muslim, being born in muslim family or do you have middeleastern features?

Murtad is arabic for "apostate". So I basically am not a real "believer". I'm not really a full blown Murtad though since I still practice for the sake of communal and familial relations. But I basically don't really believe and Islam has become more of cultural holdover for me. You're not a Murtad, but you are an ethnic Muslim. Ethnic just means being Muslim is part of your culture and history - so yeah being born into a Muslim family. And considering the fact that I am "randomly" selected for intrusive baggage checks every single time I go through an International airport yes I must have MiddleEastern features.

Anyway, this is what, my second day fasting and yea, it's pretty hard. Also, I thought that dating was not allowed in Islam? Not exactly sure, but I thought that's why we have arranged marriages.....

And something else I have always wondered about, maybe one of you Muslims can answer this for me. What does a Muslim do during Ramadan, if he/she is in a place where the sun never sets? :hmmm:

Yeah, I meant as in during the fasting times. Lots of Muslim guys meet their not-so Muslim GFs during daytime at school/uni and any lustful groping or "quickie" activities are strictly prohibited during Ramadan.

For Muslims that live in Alaska or the Canadian NorthWest territories I think many Imams decided that you can perform the fast according to the closest line of latitude with sensible sunsets and sunrises.

Yes, it can be albanian first name and last macedonian and albanian, Bajramovski is macedonian i think and Bajrami is albanian last name.

Bajram is usually associated with celebration after ramadan.I think word is of turkish origin.I didnt know before, but Turks and Bosnian have close ties historiclly.Bajram on arabic is Idd i think they call it.Be free to correct me if you think i am wrong.

I am not a muslim, though I find the religion interesting to say the least. However, my concept of a possible deity is different from the concept in the judeo-christian-islamic god. Yes, happy Ramadan, and good luck with the fasting. We Orthodox Christians fast from meat, oil and wine over the Advent and Easter periods, so I can sympathise with your predicament!
