    Default Some questions.

    Hi!

I'm new in this forum, but i have played RTW for a while now. Actually now it is RTR. I can't understand why is it so that only way for Rome to expand is when i'm playing with it. When i played with Gaul, i deliberately didn't mess with Rome, to see it expanding, but noo...Greek conquers Italian peninsula. Almost same with other factions. Why is it so? :hmmm:
Now i play with Ptoleimac Empire and hope that Rome will expand. But now comes the other problem. Capital and other bigger cities incomes are all -1500 or even worst...same thing with other factions...Could someone give me some guidelines for better economy?

    Thanks!

As for the economy issue - make sure you keep your troop count LOW!!!

I usually have two groups of troops, one for offense, and one for territorial defense.

I only make 1 or 2 units in each city, and I never have problems with income. Build roads, mines, etc, first. Build traders, and ports, when you can.

Keep the troop count DOWN, and you'll be fine.

Egypt is very big, i can't defend it with just one army. But thanks, i'll see to it that all unneccesery troops will be disbanded.

Well, When playing as Rome, you should expand as fast as you can. Minimal garrisons (except border towns), always build new stacks to get new cities, coastal cities are best. Enslave cities populance, so you will get a slave resource. Also try to fight one or two factions at the time and get trade rights from the others, money will flow. When playing Julii, I always have very little money, but once you get to Greece (Brutii gets there right away) you won't have financial problems. Just get a huge piece of mediterranean coast and do naval business (trade rights, good harbors). Plus markets, roads, mines and farms, but you already knew that.

Yeah, I do know that. But if I am playing with another faction(for example: Egypt), then Rome don't expand...or is it very, i mean very slow progress?

Best way is lowering the cost of upkeep for your units, you can also modify the money values for ports, mines, temples and traders.
