Default Just a Few Custom Portraits

So I've been working on some custom portraits, just for my personal game, for the last hour or so, and just figured, why not upload them?
I'm an Elf-friend, and I decided to give Elrond, Thranduil, Haldir, and Glorfindel different portraits.

For Elrond, I wanted to give him a more 'updated' look, and show that nice new armor he had in An Unexpected Journey.

For Haldir, I just wanted one with the red/gold armor, as opposed to that drab beige.

Glorfindel I made on a whim a few days ago, my first custom portrait. He will be included in the next MOS patch.

    Thranduil, because why not?

They don't look as professional as the portraits in the official TATW releases, but if you like them, feel free to use them. I may make more in the future.

Screenshots are included in the download.

To install, simply go to your M2TW/mods/Third_Age_3/data/ui/custom_portraits, and paste the files in the corresponding character's folder. You should back up the folders before hand, just to be safe. If you want Elrond and Thranduil to show up on the faction selection screen, then paste the leader_pic_egypt and leader_pic_mongols files into world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign.

If you like them, let me know!

    *UPDATE*

I've cleaned up the original portraits a little, and added new ones for Legolas and some new Mirkwood generals from An Unexpected Journey and from the Desolation of Smaug trailers. For those who just want Legolas and the generals, here:

    Legolas and MG.7z

And for those who want Legolas, the generals, and the slightly more polished versions of my older portraits, here:

I'm working on some Hobbits, Corsairs, and a certain forgetful barkeep for the DaC team, the DaC submod is one of the biggest, most ambitious, and most eagerly awaited submods in production, and I'm excited to be even a very small part of it. When those portraits are done, they'll be released here as well, I'm taking a little longer on them because I have to come up with geezer portraits for them

Pretty cool! If you can actually come up with geezer portraits that would be quite impressive, however I don't think we mind much if they are the same as the younger ones . BTW, do you have any experience with making unit cards?

No, can't say I do. Until a few days ago I had never done this before in my life.

First I've got to finish my obligations to the DaC team, any advice on making old portraits? Hobbits age differently then humans, so I'm not sure what the 'old threshold' is for them. I need to figure out how to cut all of the background out of the battle map portraits. I like having the colored backgrounds in the character summary portraits, but I'm not completely satisfied with how the battle portraits look, the exceptions being Glorfindel and Legolas, they look pretty good I think. Every time I think I've got them as cleaned-up as they can be, I notice more specks of background lol. They look a lot better in game though, then they do in the above jpegs.

After that, I don't know, I've been thinking of making some for Tauriel and Radagast, and trying to do an aged-up version of Bard the Bowman as portrayed by Luke Evans. And then trying to expand my horizons into something else.

If you find a good way of making them look old (The stock ones in game just give them grey hair) then that is brilliant but it is a really minor feature. Most people wouldn't pay too much attention to a general's age unless it is the faction leader. Also, the DaC mod has 5 turns per year so it takes a VERY long time for people to age. Glad to see you are enjoying it though! I look forward to your future works. Galu! (That is good luck, not just me signing off)
