In the Sagas, Jomsvikings were regarded as the best warriors out of all the Norsemen. Likely they are going to be an high-tier elite mercenary force.

Also since its the Byzantines, The Vangarian Guard mercenaries might show up too...

*coming fast from a distance* YOU GUYS!! You guys gotta see this, it´s ....*gasp*it´s.....*gasp*...ok. It´s so sweet you guys, taleworlds just released a new devBlog and it´s soo keeewl!!

    Here, look!

Seriously now, it looks so damn impressive,oh and the backgroudn tune was really nice. If we call advances a huge leap forward, than these devs just put on jetpacks, never to land again

God, now I just need to know a release date, then I can freeze myself like Cartman and waite till it´s out

Amazing, isn't it? But I think that's not the actual map, but rather a demonstration of what their engine can do. They also said the map will be much larger than the one from Warband, with hundreds of agents acting independently.

Dat glimpse of the duel at the end of the video...

Later edit: it seems the modding community will benefit from that powerful editor as well, or at least some version of it.

DAMN this is looking so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, as throngs of his enemies bore down upon him and one of his followers said, "They are making at thee, O King," "Who else, pray," said Antigonus, "should be their mark? But Demetrius will come to my aid." This was his hope to the last, and to the last he kept watching eagerly for his son; then a whole cloud of javelins were let fly at him and he fell.

I'm going to be very impressed if they truely deliver on this, and not the battle map/scene editor, but the campagin map and character/items editors as well. In short I like what I've seen but I'm really missing some basic combat demostrations and forexample how collision physics are going to be e.g. heavy cavalry crashing into a group of infantry (both braced, and unprepared). I also hope that scenes can be a lot more populated (they kinda said so) than previously, because cities and whatnot just felt dead to me.

So after many months all we get is some half-decent music? I'd be far more interested in seeing just a tiny bit of a screenshot of the campaign map or some micro glimpses of how a battle will be like.

I'm not advocating for TaleWorlds to go down the same route as CA, spewing blatant lies about their product and overhyping it, but something in between CA's ADHD marketting and TaleWorlds lack of communication would be very nice.

Not a dev..... -THE- dev! Meaning, Armagan!

That was a great video, thanks for showing that!
M&B Prequel? Medieval Roman-based faction? Old Caliphates-based faction? Deeper political mechanics? Hellz yeah! I can't wait for this game!!

One thing that irked me, however, is how the person that made that video butchered some pronunciations. Grr...

I think he was flat out wrong on the Rhodocs, they were pretty obviously Italian while the new faction is Celtics.

No mention of the leaked Alpha images from January?

Suggests formations and a fairly high number of troops might be a thing.
Graphics are hardly looking impressive, but it is alpha, and (being guessed) to be at low settings.

They're definitely a step forward. I'm looking forward to see some more castles, from the outside in particular.
