Medieval 2 total war from windows 7 to windows 8

Does anyone know how to transfer a medieval 2 install on a windows 7 laptop to a windows 8 laptop? I have the digital download version as neither laptop has a cd drive. I have tried for hours and would be very thankful if somebody would help me. Thanks and have a good day

Buy a Steam copy and download it to both. Win 7 has a way to transfer files, assuming programs from one computer to another.

Do your research before trying it.

It could be easier to buy the Steam version as it's good for any computer.
